The Royal Patronage Dental Service of KKU Dentistry provides do a public serving to commemorate Mahidol Day 2019.
On September 25, at Pak-Oon School in Srisongkram District of Nakhon Phanom Province, a team of the Royal Patronage Dental Unit of KKU Dentistry provides do a public serving to commemorate Mahidol Day 2019, a day on which Thai people recall the health attribution dedicated by His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla who is reckoned as a Father of Thai Modern Medicine. About 470 people attended the dental check on that day.
The Royal Patronage Dental Unit of KKU Dentistry was first established in 1995 under the patronage of Late King Bhumibol. To articulate the dental care and treatment for the people residing in remote areas of Thailand, the agent since then has provide free mobile dental clinic to people in the northeastern region.
Prior to setting out the dental check, a ceremony to pay homage to the picture of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla was held in the morning. The ceremony involved the hanging of flower garland in front of the prince picture. Five representatives leading the nosegay hanging ceremony included; Dr. Chaiyawoot Pruek-ngarmpan (DDS), a chairman of The Royal Patronage Unit of KKU, Mr. Worakarn Thippaga, a director of Srisongkram Hospital, Mr. Umpan Promkot, a director of Pak-Oon Phadoongwit School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ariya Ratanatongkham (DDS), a former director dental hospital, and Mrs. Chulipon Suphanya, a head of the dental clinic. Following the flower hanging session, the chairman of the Royal Patronage Unit led the ceremonial participants to read a note to praise His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla. The prince was known for this dedication to the betterment and standardizing of modern Thai medicine. He donated for the improvement of many nurse and medical courses and the renovation of Siriraj Hospital. The Prince took the lead in making an MOU with Rockefeller Foundation for the development of Thai medical education. Many of his devotion and projects were for the improvement of Thai people health. Because of this contribution on the medical and public health development, the Prince has been appointed as a Father of modern Thai medicine.
