Khon Kaen University recently held a strategic workshop to draft its 2026 operational plan, aiming to propel the university’s vision and strategies toward tangible success. The event took place from March 16-18, 2025, at the Royal Nakhara Hotel and Convention Center in Nong Khai Province. The workshop was inaugurated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of KKU, who delivered a keynote address on “Strategic Focus and Key Projects for the 2026 Fiscal Year.”
The primary goal of the seminar was to identify key priorities for driving the university’s annual operational plan. The event brought together executives from various faculties and departments to exchange ideas and insights.
Key Highlights of the Workshop
One of the standout sessions was a special lecture on “Future Outlook for Khon Kaen University in 2026,” presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tala Thammaroj, Vice President for Administration. Another highlight was a talk on “Global Trends: AI,” delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Denpong Soodphakdee, Vice President for Education and Digital Affairs. Both sessions offered forward-thinking perspectives on how KKU can adapt and thrive in an era of rapid technological change.
Participants also engaged in group discussions to address critical issues for advancing the university’s operational plan. On the afternoon of March 17, a panel discussion was held to explore the development direction of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies and the future of Nong Khai Province. The panel featured Asst. Prof. Dr. Suntaree Buchitchon, Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, who shared insights on regional and academic development.
The event concluded with a team-building activity led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Anucha Somabut, Assistant to the President for Education, and his team, fostering collaboration and camaraderie among participants.

“This seminar serves as a crucial platform for defining the future direction of Khon Kaen University. It enables us to plan and execute our strategies more effectively, positioning KKU as a leading university that addresses the nation’s development needs across all dimensions,” said Assoc.
