Khon Kaen University’s China Information Center for Business and Investment (KKU ChIC), in collaboration with the Khon Kaen Chamber of Commerce, has launched a groundbreaking initiative aimed at exploring the thriving wellness industry in China. On August 24, 2024, leaders, experts, and entrepreneurs gathered for a pivotal event titled “Exploring Chinese Wellness Industry Opportunities over the Greater Bay Area,” held at Khon Kaen University’s College of Graduate Study in Management.
The event was inaugurated by key figures including Dr. Sakchai Jarernsiripornkul (Dean of the College of Graduate Study in Management), Dr. Watcharapol Sirisuvilai (Acting Director of KKU ChIC), and Mr. Channarong Buristrakul (President of Khon Kaen Chamber of Commerce). Their presence underscored the importance of this initiative in fostering international business collaborations.
Adding further prestige to the event were Ms. Yang Ting Ting (Chinese Consul in charge of commerce), Dr. Teerawat Srinakarin (Chief Executive Officer at Ratchaphruek Hospital), Ms. Wannipa Pipopchaiyasit (Director of Investment Promotion Division 3), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cholatip Pongsakul (Acting Director of the Wellness and Medical Innovation Center), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitapatr Dhabhalabutr (Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University), Asst. Prof. Dr. Wiyada Panjarak (Acting Director of the Cellular Therapy Center), and Ms. Sasamon Mahasirikul (President of Khon Kaen MICE and Tourism Association). Their participation highlighted the event’s significance in shaping the future of the wellness industry.
This initiative aims to empower Thai business leaders with the knowledge and vision necessary to excel in the wellness sector, fostering collaboration and investment opportunities between Thailand and China. By building a robust network of cooperation, the project is set to drive the wellness industry in the region to new heights.
The forum featured insightful presentations and discussions, with Dr. Phaichit Viboontanasarn, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Thai Chamber of Commerce in China, leading a session on “Doing Business with China: Opportunities and Challenges.” His analysis of investment potential in China’s rapidly expanding Greater Bay Area provided participants with a clear roadmap to success in the wellness industry.
On August 25, 2024, the conversation continued with an exclusive session featuring H.E. Atthayut Srisamut, former Thai Ambassador to Beijing. His strategic insights on “Strategies for Developing Relationships to Promote International Business Operations” offered invaluable guidance for those looking to forge strong business connections between Thailand and China.
