The prize awarded by “ANTI-CORRUPTION AWARDS 2021” is owing to the administration of Khon Kaen University that emphasizes transparency, good governance and instilling of conscience against corruption among the University people and students.
December 14, 2021 at the Army Radio and Television Station or Channel 5 – the Anti-Corruption Agency of Thailand held an event to present the prizes for the “ANTI-CORRUPTION AWARDS 2021”. Mr. Chuan Leekphai, President of the Parliament presided over the ceremony. The prizes were divided into 3 categories, individuals, organizations, and mass media. Certificates of Appreciation were also given to 10 academic institutions that hold on to, in their administration, good governance, transparency, integrity, honesty and participation in anti-corruption. Khon Kaen University is one of the ten institutions awarded the prize.
The event has been arranged the third time, with an aim to appreciate and honor individuals, organizations, and mass media that administer with good governance, patience, integrity, honesty, and see the importance in solving the corruption problems as well as creating network all over Thailand to instill good behaviors among the students and youths.
Ajarn Natsamol Thanakulrungsarit, Assistant to the President for Special Affairs of Khon Kaen University explained that Khon Kaen University is one among the institutions having been awarded the appreciating prizes from the Anti-Corruption Agency of Thailand consecutively for many years. “KKU thanks the Agency for awarding us the prize from being an outstanding institution that carries out anti-corruption job. We are honored to receive this award. The prize reflects that the administration has been under good governance and transparency. All administrators see the importance of transparent and auditable administration according to the principle of good governance. All are doing their jobs with honesty and integrity, with auditing being carried out at all phases, both for the work and the people. The award will lead to further development and adherence to transparent and impartial administration, and absence from corruption,” the Assistant to the President said.
Khon Kaen University has set the implementation plan for prevention and suppression of corruption since 2013 and included the plan under the University’s strategic plan. Work has been done to instill and raise conscience against corruption among staff and students at all levels. Work integration has been formed with other organizations in order to establish the network that collaborates on anti-corruption with domestic and overseas members. The administration and tools that prevent and suppress corruption have been developed as well as anti-corruption knowledge built. Khon Kaen University has joined with the Anti-Corruption Agency Thailand and this is the cooperation that prevents corruption in the institution.
