KKU President chairs the opening ceremony of the Competency and Skill Development Project for the “New Ajarns”

June 29, 2021 – Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University presided over the opening ceremony of the Competency and Skill Development for the new lecturers of Khon Kaen University of the Fiscal Year 2021. Assoc. Prof. Kriengkrai Kitcharoen, Ph.D., Vice President for Human Resources made a reporting speech. There were 80 new lecturers joining this online event.

 

The Competency and Skill Development project for the new lecturers of Khon Kaen University was honored to have the President presenting a special talk on “Policies, Directions, and Strategies of Khon Kaen University and the Expectation towards the Roles and Duties of Academic Personnel.” The program also included training that was aimed to add to the competency of the new lecturers in many aspects, namely, the new instruction paradigm in the digital age, students’ behavior in the new-normal era: students change means adjustment of teachers, learning activities – Digital Learning Model, learning evaluation that matches the required competency. The training was organized from June 29, 2021 until July 2, 2021.

 

Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University explained that this Competency and Skill Development project for the new lecturers is an event that Khon Kaen University plans for the newly recruited lecturers so that they can be prepared to work and be enhanced with basic experiences in research and instruction, which are the key duties and missions of the academic personnel. New lecturers were also acknowledged about the policies, directions, and strategies of the university, personnel administration, the supporting system for academic staff development, the research supporting system, instruction that follows the Education Transformation policy. Other topics of the training included: building inspiration towards the progress in the profession, i.e., higher academic positions, the design of instruction and evaluation in the digital age, instilling the spirit of Khon Kaen University among the trainees building networks of KKU lecturers, which will also lead to the advances in research and academic work as well as teaching and preparing KKU graduates who possess the required traits for the society.
