Nong Khai Business School Students organize international trade seminar to gain experience in Bachelor’s degree project presentation
On October 26, 2019, 4th year students from International Business Program, Business Administration, organized the seminar in the topic of “the Promotion of Border Trade, Logistic Management, and Collaboration of International Investment” at Administration Building, Khon Kaen University, Nong Khai Campus. It was an honor to have Dr. Popkarn Arwatchanakarn from Mae Fah Luang University giving a lecture on trading, investment, international economy and business, and the promotion of logistics as well as tour routes along R3A from Thailand to Laos and China. The topic of the lecture was mainly about business and investment opportunity along Thai borders and neighboring countries, potential in development, promotion of frontier tourism along R3A route from Thailand to Laos and China, and the development of community located among border transportation and economic corridor areas.
The afternoon session was project presentation by 4th year students from International Business Program. All 16 poster presentation covered various aspects as follows: 1) strategies for international marketing; 2) logistics; 3) human resource development; and 4) frontier tourism promotion. The committee evaluating students’ project were Dr. Popkarn Arwatchanakarn from Mae Fah Luang University; Dr. Prapatsorn Suetrong, Associate Dean of Faculty of Business Administration; and Ajarn Keerati Nivoranusit from Accountancy Program, Faculty of Business Administration. Teaching and learning approach was Research-Based Learning (RBL), that is, encouraging learners study and do research freely on by themselves from different sources, and teachers only guided them to think critically. It could be said that the outcome of this activity was beyond all expectations. Dr. Supawat Meeprom was the advisor of these research projects and this seminar.
Miss Chulada Khamklee, a 4th year student of International Business Program, said what she had learned from her seminar class was various and up-to-date in terms of logistics, tourism, marketing, and workforce. She could learn how to manage her time when going out to collect data and how to solve unexpected problems. The content taught in class was also in English. It was a good way to prepare students for their future career because English was very important. Moreover, experts attended the seminar and gave useful lectures about frontier business promotion and international investment.
