The Alumni Relation Section of the Division of Student Development and Alumni Relation organized a voluntary activity to renovate the Mo Din Daeng Spirit House on the occasion of the 57th KKU Anniversary on January 25, 2021. The activity was aimed to have the students do something for the society and spend their time for common benefit. It also enhanced love, pride, attachment towards the institution, and connection between the present and the former students; through the Great Mo Din Daeng Spirit House, to which KKU folks hold on. There is the Mo Din Daeng Spirit Thamma Sathan Pavilion that has been built and maintained by the alumni. Therefore, the activity performed by both the present and former students is another dimension that binds love and attachment and at the same time lessens the gap between generations.
The voluntary activity was joined by 57 students in the morning and 57 students in the afternoon, to clean the area around the Mo Din Daeng Spirit Thamma Sathan Pavilion and the area surrounding the Alumni Association Office, so that the places look pleasant and beautiful to the eyes of the beholders. The volunteer students also cleared the leaves and refuses at the two places.
Miss Piyaporn Phetsri, an agriculture student said, “This voluntary activity lets us learn to work with others. It teaches us to spend our free time fruitfully. When we use our physical and spiritual energy to do the work, we feel fresh and happy and see the value in ourselves. I’m able to work with friends from other faculties whom I’ve never known before. I see that every one works to their fullest capacity, and the places are more pleasant to come.”
Miss Jirathitikan Khamyod, a student from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences explained, “This voluntary work enables us to develop ourselves, upgrading our feeling and thought about performing something that benefits the others. The activity is a mechanism that creates people with social-mindedness for the society who will help and support one another.”
Mr. Burapa Suwannamas, a student from the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy said, “A voluntary job is easy to do. It starts from ourselves and forms into a habit. The activity today makes the place look clean and is useful for KKU people coming to the Mo Din Daeng Spirit House to raise a peaceful mind.”
Miss Chanikan Baothong, another student from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences added, “This activity enables me to know new friends from other faculties. I feel good to have done the activity.”
Mr. Sarawut Modnok, a student from the Faculty of Law expressed, “This voluntary activity makes the area around the Mo Din Daeng Spirit House cleaner. I see cooperation of friends from different faculties that have helped until everything is finished. It makes the campus clean and pleasant to stay.”
