Khon Kaen University Passes with a “Good” Rating, Scoring 94.25 in the 2024 ITA Assessment for Integrity and Transparency in Government Agencies

The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (ONACC) has announced the results of the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) for government agencies. It is a great pleasure to report that this year, Khon Kaen University has achieved an overall score of 94.25, classified as “Good.” This is an increase of 4.19 points from the previous year.

 

For many years, the university has consistently scored more than 85 points. The evaluation consists of three parts as follows

  1. Open Data Integrity and Transparency Assessment (OIT) scored 95.84 points
  2. External Integrity and Transparency Assessment (EIT) Last year, it scored 84.53 points, and this year, the score has increased to 94.15 points
  3. Internal Integrity and Transparency Assessment (IIT) scored 92.24 points

 

In the past year, Khon Kaen University has undertaken various measures to prevent and combat corruption. These include the implementation of digital technology to create standard specifications and reference prices for the university’s supplies and equipment. Specifications and reference prices are reviewed every six months in accordance with university announcements. The university has revised regulations to oversee and control the ethics of its personnel, implemented measures for handling complaints and accusations systematically, and established mechanisms for both disciplinary and ethical actions to ensure confidence for both complainants and the accused. The university has managed complaints and disclosed various information through its website and other channels, allowing staff, students, and the public to report and lodge complaints about corruption.

 

The university has delegated authority to various levels of administrators, such as vice presidents, assistant presidents, and deans, to decentralize operations and reduce workflow steps. The university has encouraged public participation by appointing external individuals, such as government agency heads, NGO representatives, and parents, to its committees to provide feedback and monitor operations. Risk assessments and action plans have been carried out, including analyzing and assessing risks, providing recommendations for improving risk management plans, and establishing internal control systems. Financial and accounting guidelines have been developed and information and communication systems improved. A financial committee has been appointed to oversee financial benefits and report the financial status to the university council.

 

Annual and monthly audits have been conducted in procurement, finance, and accounting, with results reported monthly and annually. The university has enhanced the knowledge and skills of its personnel through various training courses and initiated knowledge-sharing projects (KM), organizing workshops on effective risk assessment and internal control.

 

This significant improvement in assessment scores reflects Khon Kaen University’s commitment to integrity and transparency, and the confidence of its staff, students, and the public in its operations and administration. The university leadership and council have continuously prioritized this issue, making ITA scores a key performance indicator in the university’s 10th strategic plan.
