KKU presents glorification awards to personnel at the “2023 Appreciation and Thanks” event

Tuesday November 21, 2023 – Khon Kaen University held the “2023 Appreciation and Thanks” – glorification award presentation to personnel of the University. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University presided over the ceremony, while Assoc. Prof. Kriengkrai Kitjaroen, Ph.D., Vice President for Human Resources gave the reporting speech. The event was held at the Science Park, Khon Kaen University.


Assoc. Prof. Kriengkrai Kitjaroen, Ph.D., Vice President for Human Resources mentioned in his reporting speech , “This event is organized to express gratitude to and honor the personnel of Khon Kaen University who have contributed to the development of knowledge, dedicated themselves and created evident work outcomes, as well as bringing reputation to Khon Kaen University. There are 7 categories of the glorification awards as follows: 20 awards in organizational administration; 6 awards in academic services; 14 awards in producing graduates; 15 awards in research; 2 awards for outstanding governmental officials; 11 awards for the personnel building reputation to the University at the national level; and 22 awards for the personnel building reputation to the University at the international level.”


Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University congratulates all of the glorification awardees in different categories and those receiving national and international awards, making the public and external organizations see the achievements of Khon Kaen University. “The University has grown until its 60th anniversary owing to all of you, who are the important part in the University’s growth. I hope that this event would build moral support to everyone in their work.”
Due to the University’s awareness of the importance in energy conservation, the glorification award for outstanding energy conservation is given to the Faculty of Medicine.


Asst. Prof. Amnat Kitkuandee, M.D., Assistant to the Dean for Administration of the Faculty of Medicine, who is awarded the outstanding energy conservation prize said that he was very happy to receive this award. The Faculty of Medicine is a big organization, but is able to reduce the energy consumption from technological development based on 2 concepts: developing and adopting modern technology and adjusting people’s behaviors, which needs time.
Khon Kaen University holds the vision in becoming a research university and has awarded the glorification prize to the new generation researcher who has brought reputation to the University.


Assoc. Prof. Pornnapa Kasemsiri, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Engineering, who is awarded the new generation researcher prize said, “I’m honored to be awarded this prize. My research study is on the development of hydrogel derived from tapioca flour, which is a farm waste, to heal wounds. This research was awarded a prize from the Loreal Thailand in 2023. The research has been conducted with a team from the Faculty of Medicine, namely, Prof. Thidarat Boonmars, Ph.D. and Asst. Prof. Supranee Pantanawiboon, Ph.D., and a group of students. The work involved development and utilization of raw agricultural waste materials in Isan region. I’d like to encourage new researchers who are conducting research work that there are successful day and day of obstacle. If you continue with determination, then the success is not too far.”
Khon Kaen University congratulates the personnel who receive the glorification awards and who have brought reputation to the University, for their dedication in creating, developing and driving forwards the University to become a world class research university.
