The Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences at Khon Kaen University strengthens its international academic network by co-organising a premier symposium focused on advancing movement science and global health.
On 25 April 2026, at the Conference Room, 8th Floor, Chalerm Rajakumari 60 Phansa Building, the Division of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Khon Kaen University (KKU), participated as a co-host and co-organiser of “The 12th International Physical Therapy Research Symposium 2026 (12th IPTRS 2026)”. Held under the theme “Bridging Science and Movement for a Healthier Tomorrow”, the event was primarily hosted by the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with a network of 11 physical therapy educational institutions and professional organisations nationwide. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Wilert Puriwat, Ph.D., President of Chulalongkorn University.
In this collaborative effort, faculty members from the Division of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, KKU, served as members of the inter-institutional organising subcommittee and as expert reviewers for academic contributions. Notably, Associate Professor Ruayrin Chanavirut, Ph.D., was honoured to serve as Co-Chair for the oral presentation sessions, guiding the exchange of cutting-edge research findings and fostering international dialogue.
Furthermore, undergraduate research from the KKU Division of Physical Therapy was selected for oral presentation at this international forum. This project was developed under the supervision of Assistant Professor Wanida Donpunha, Ph.D., reflecting the high standard of student research, academic mentorship, and the potential of the next generation of physical therapists within the faculty.
Participation in this international symposium marks a significant milestone in elevating physical therapy research in Thailand. It underscores the vital role of the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences at Khon Kaen University in fostering knowledge creation and maintaining a robust international academic network. By engaging in such high-level collaborations, the University continues to drive innovation and excellence in the field of movement science, contributing to the long-term health and well-being of the global community.
