KKU Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Visits Vietnam to Strengthen Academic Ties and Co-organise ICSEED 2026 in Hanoi

Associate Professor Dr Orathai Piayura, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Khon Kaen University (KKU), led a delegation to the National Economics University (NEU) in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The visit was to attend and deliver the opening remarks at the 22nd International Conference on Socio-Economic and Environmental Issues in Development (ICSED 2026) in their capacity as a co-organiser.

During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr Orathai delivered the opening speech, emphasising the strong relationship between KKU’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and NEU. For over a decade, the two institutions have continuously collaborated to create a platform for cross-border academic knowledge exchange.

Furthermore, the Dean was honoured to give a special lecture entitled, “Gender, Identity, and Social Change in Contemporary Thai Society”. The presentation reflected humanistic perspectives and the development of gender diversity acceptance in modern-day Thailand.

As part of this visit, the KKU delegation also met with Prof Dr Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President of NEU, alongside the executive board. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views and establish collaborative guidelines between the two universities, with a primary focus on driving environmental and sustainable development research towards practical, real-world implementation.
