Cross-Mekong Academic Partnership Strengthened: KKU’s Nong Khai Demonstration School and National University of Laos Sign Cooperation Agreement

 The collaboration involves the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, the Demonstration School of KKU’s Nong Khai Campus, and the Faculty of Education and Demonstration Secondary School of the National University of Laos, advancing progressive academic development.

The Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University, Nong Khai Campus (Satit KKU NKC), hosted an Academic Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony with the Demonstration Secondary School and the Faculty of Education of the National University of Laos (NUOL).

The signing ceremony was honoured by the presence of Assistant Professor Suntaree Buchitchon, Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, and Dr Krongkaew Kingsawat, Director of Satit KKU NKC. They co-signed the agreement with Mr Khamfeuang Lorvanxay, Dean of the Faculty of Education, NUOL, and Mrs Phonsy Oraine, Director of the Demonstration Secondary School, NUOL. The proceedings were witnessed by a distinguished assembly of executives and faculty members from the participating institutions. The event took place on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, at the Innovation Park Room, 1st Floor, Building 2 for Integrated Learning and Laboratory, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University.

The atmosphere was one of warm collegiate collaboration, reflecting the strong ties between the Mekong neighbours. Following the formal discussions, the Director of Satit KKU NKC led the visiting delegation on a tour of the Summer Camp initiatives at the primary school and a cultural visit to the Nong Khai Aquarium.

This agreement solidifies the role of Khon Kaen University as a regional hub for educational innovation, fostering a sustainable academic network that transcends borders to benefit students and educators across the GMS.
