KKU’s Faculty of Education Strengthens Regional Teacher Training Network with Mahasarakham University

The initiative, titled “Building Teacher Education Networks in the Northeast,” saw leaders from both universities share strategies for sustainable development and performance excellence.

On 11 March 2026, the Faculty of Education at Khon Kaen University hosted a collaborative project titled “Building Teacher Education Networks in the Northeast.” The event brought together academic leaders and staff from Khon Kaen University (KKU) and Mahasarakham University (MSU) to strengthen regional cooperation in teacher education.

Associate Professor Issara Kanjak, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education at Khon Kaen University, along with his management team and staff, formally welcomed a delegation from Mahasarakham University led by Associate Professor Chowwalit Chookhampaeng, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education at MSU. The visit was aimed at fostering collaboration and exchanging knowledge on best practices for developing high-quality educators in the region.

The programme featured several key sessions:

  • A Focus on Innovation and Sustainability: During a meeting in the ED-TEAL room, Associate Professor Kanjak presented KKU’s strategic management approach, which prioritises the creation of educational innovation and ensures sustainable organisational growth.

  • A Pathway to Excellence: Assistant Professor Prakrittiya Taksino, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Strategy and Organisation Development, delivered a presentation on “EdPEx (Education Criteria for Performance Excellence),” detailing the framework used by the faculty to elevate its operations towards international standards.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Exchange: A comprehensive question-and-answer session on EdPEx categories 1–7 followed, during which associate deans and heads of various departments from KKU shared their experiences and provided detailed insights.

To conclude the event, staff members from both universities participated in friendly sporting activities, creating a warm and collegial atmosphere that strengthened professional relationships between the two faculties.

This networking initiative provided a valuable opportunity for both institutions to exchange knowledge on systematic management practices for organisational excellence. The collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to improving the quality of teacher education in Northeastern Thailand, ensuring that future educators are well prepared to meet the evolving demands of modern education.
