The event aims to foster institutional collaboration, boost staff morale, and support the incoming undergraduate students under the “1+3 Interdisciplinary KKU Journey” programme.
On 10 June 2026, the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies at Khon Kaen University (KKU) held a religious merit-making ceremony for its new administrative office. The ceremony took place on the 6th floor of the Lecture and Basic Skills Development Building at Khon Kaen University. The auspicious event was organised to bring good fortune and boost the morale of executives and staff members, whilst preparing the infrastructure to support the “1+3” instructional model commencing in the 2026 academic year. Furthermore, the gathering served to strengthen relations and foster collaboration among various internal university agencies.
The ceremony was led by Asst. Prof. Suntaree Buchitchon, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, alongside the faculty’s executive team, lecturers, and staff. The event was honoured by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, who attended the ceremony together with senior executives from various departments across the university.
Apart from enhancing the morale and spirit of the faculty members and staff, this merit-making ceremony marks a significant step in preparing to welcome first-year undergraduate students from all curricula within the faculty to the Khon Kaen campus in the 2026 academic year. Under the “1+3 Interdisciplinary KKU Journey” educational framework, first-year students will begin their academic journey in an environment specifically designed to foster fundamental skills development, cross-disciplinary learning, and personal growth, preparing them to become graduates who are ready for the future world.
This initiative reflects the strong relationships and collaborative synergy among internal units within Khon Kaen University, all of which are actively working together to support the university’s strategic mission towards sustainable educational excellence.
