Art and Culture Centre Strengthens Network Ties with 15 Local Communities, Highlighting Future Partnership Programmes for 2026

On Monday, 2 February 2026, Khon Kaen University (KKU), through its Art and Culture Centre, organised the “Executives Meet Neighbourhood Communities Network” event. The initiative formed part of a broader programme aimed at sharing best practices, exchanging knowledge, and strengthening long-standing cultural collaboration. The meeting was held at the Phuttha Silp Meeting Room of the KKU Art and Culture Centre.

The event was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Niyom Wongpongkham, Ph.D., Vice President for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, who delivered the opening remarks. Also in attendance were Asst. Prof. Suksanti Waengwan, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, and Mr. Worasak Worayot, Director of the Art and Culture Centre, along with staff members. They warmly welcomed representatives from all 15 communities located around the boundaries of Khon Kaen University.

The programme commenced with a video presentation outlining the mission and role of the KKU Art and Culture Centre. This was followed by a certificate presentation ceremony for representatives of the 15 communities, recognising their continued cooperation and commitment to the preservation, conservation, inheritance, and development of local arts, culture, and wisdom.

During the event, the Khon Kaen University Art and Culture Centre provided a comprehensive overview of upcoming cultural activities and programmes scheduled for 2026. These included significant university traditions, such as the KKU Songkran Festival, the annual tribute to the Isan Heritage Artists and cultural rapport award recipients, as well as various local wisdom learning and transmission initiatives.

These future programmes offer extensive opportunities for neighbourhood communities to participate actively, serving as co-organisers, knowledge transmitters, and strategic partners in the joint development of arts and culture initiatives.

This activity represents another significant step in strengthening the cultural network surrounding Khon Kaen University, effectively leveraging arts and culture as a foundation for relationship-building, community engagement, and the co-creation of cultural value for society.
