KKU Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies Collaborates with Vaxion Korea and Nong Khai PAO to Foster Innovation and Thai-Korean Cultural Exchange

On 9 December 2025, Assistant Professor Suntaree Buchitchon, Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, alongside the faculty administration—including Lecturer Chartporn Mueangkhot Mungkunsan, Associate Professor Wallapa Wongsintam, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, and Mrs. Siriwan Jiwhyiam, Director of the Faculty Administration Division—welcomed executives from Vaxion Korea Co., Ltd., South Korea. The delegation was led by Mr. Taiheyon Kim (Chief Executive Officer) and Mr. Haejin Pyun (Director). The purpose of the visit was to discuss and explore potential collaborative opportunities between the two organisations.

The meeting served as a platform for exchanging academic perspectives and discussing strategies for enhancing student potential. Key discussion points included creative activities, the promotion of Thai–Korean culture, and opportunities for further cooperation that will ultimately lead to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

During the consultation, the following collaboration goals were established:

  1. Digital Technology Development: To uplift the digital skills, innovation capabilities, and workforce readiness of students at the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies.
  2. Student Mission Platform Development: To create student activities that translate into designated “Missions” on the Vaxion Korea platform, thereby systematically encouraging students to produce academic work, develop projects, and participate in joint platform assignments.
  3. Joint Public Relations and Marketing: To undertake collaborative activities aimed at increasing the visibility of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies:
    • 3.1 Organising major events (Big Events) on campus and at the provincial level to generate widespread public awareness.
    • 3.2 Utilising the faculty grounds and the Aquarium as filming locations for Korean content or series (K-Drama) to enhance the faculty’s image and promote cultural tourism within Nong Khai Province.

Following the discussion, the executives from Vaxion Korea toured the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies campus, the Aquarium, and significant locations within Nong Khai Province, including the Cultural Plaza (Phaya Naga Statue) near Wat Lamduan, and Wat Pho Chai, a Royal Temple. They also met with Mr. Wuttikrai Changlek, Chief Executive of the Nong Khai Provincial Administrative Organisation, to exchange regional information and discuss opportunities for economic and cultural partnership within the province. This joint endeavour represents another significant step in advancing KKU’s international cooperation.
