Lecturers of Khon Kaen University Nongkhai Campus led students to join Nongkhai and Buengkan Tourism Community Market Testing Project under the Creative Industry Village Project (CIV)
September 4-6, 2019 – Lecturers of Khon Kaen University Nongkhai Campus led students to join Nongkhai and Buengkan Tourism Community Market Testing Project. Dr. Jaturaporn Sihabutr, Dr. Angwara Na Suntorn, Asst. Prof. Dr. Teerawat Charoenrat, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chayada Surawanitkul and a group of students of Faculty of Business Administration and Faculty of nurturing and community services under the courses BA133103 International Business Strategy Management, 942446 International Business Strategy Administration, 927 103 Principles of Economics for Tourism Industry, 927283 Sustainable Tourism, BS952201 Statistics for Management, 935101 Introduction to Computer Science and Information. The students joined the tourism communities in Nongkhai including Ban Si-kai, Ban Jom Jaeng, Ban Dua, Ban Had Kham, and Ban Sa-Ngor in Buengkan. The activities were under the cooperation of Department of Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry and Khon Kaen University.
The 4th year students majoring in tourism had a chance to practice being guide assistants and work for the 50 other participants under this project, which could be considered as a good practicum and a good chance to practice solving immediate problems. The 1st year students also learned about tourism activities and tourism products of the homestay communities. The event truly opened the world vision for all participating students. In addition, the computer science students and information science students were able to practice interviewing people in the communities who joined the project in order to evaluate the project implementation and to build a database for tourism activities which can be used for the future project.
