Cultural Center of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts and its allies create an outdoor music to share musical inspiration and recreation to the public with a project called, “Sitan Twilight Music” which was lunched for the first time on July 24, 2019 on Sitan reservoir’s west bank. The music fair welcomes the presence of many guests including; Assoc. Prof. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul (M.D.), a KKU acting president and the event chair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Niyom Wongpongkham, an acting vice president for culture and public relations and the students and teacher representatives from KKU. The opening ceremony was choreographed by a music band from the faculty of art.
Assoc. Prof. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul said the areas around Sitan reservoir have been utilized for the exhibition of both traditional cultures and contemporary cultures. In response to the university’s policy on cultural preservation, the scenario around the ponds has been renovated with the traditional Isan architecture to raise the cultural perspective in the area.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Niyom Wongpongkham, said the Sitan Twilight Music has been created in order to provide a platform for the cultural dissemination. During the first phase, the contemporary music would be presented in order to attract wider range of audiences. Sitan Twilight Music also provide a learning ground for the KKU students to dully express their musical talents. In the future, Sitan Music ground will attract more musicians from different types of musical blood to exhibit their musical skills to the public.
Sitan Twilight Music is scheduled at every third and fourth Wednesday of the month starting from 5 to 7 pm. The activities are appropriate for audiences of all ages. The audiences are welcomed to enjoy many cultural activities and different types of music. This month event falls on 21 and 31 July and next month on 21 and 28 August.
