June 2, 2023 – Assoc. Prof. Ratchapon Santiwarakorn, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University and the administration team including Assoc. Prof. Komkrit Pitirerk, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Strategic Plans and Organization Development; Asst. Prof. Thanawat Niyamosot, Ph.D.; Dr. Wathis Leelaphat; and Asst. Prof. Warayut Khampeerawat, Ph.D.; as the representatives from Khon Kaen University, visited Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, in Suchuan, People’s Republic of China. There, Professor YAO Faming, Vice President of SWJTU; Prof. MA Lei, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Section; and Ms. XIN Ling, Director of the General Office, Tianyou Railway Institute SWJTU, welcomed the delegation from Khon Kaen University, after which the two institutes discussed the collaboration in developing an undergraduate program in High Speed Train, and the establishment of the KKU-SWJTU Tianyou Railway Institute at the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University.
On this occasion, the team from KKU also paid a visit and discussion with the executives of the School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, SWJTU, and observed the State Key Laboratory of Rail Transit Vehicle System (Jiuli campus), the smart classroom, library, cafeteria, sports center, and international student dormitory (Xipu campus). That was the preparation before sending a number of third year students of the Faculty of Engineering of Khon Kaen University under the one-year Cooperative Education Program to SWJTU. The exchange students will receive a Certificate from SWJTU as well as their second degree certificate in High-Speed Train Engineering.
