The MOU signing for academic collaboration with a Buddhism institute in a foreign country is to promote academic service together including teaching of language, art, culture and self-defense art of Thailand to Thai people in Leeds and other cities in the United Kingdom. The MOU will cover development of programs in Thai studies and Buddhism, research in humanities and social sciences. In addition, the MOU will increase the chance for students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to develop their 21st Century skills, which include language competence and cross-cultural communication, by practicum, exchange of programs and students, or other academic activities with organizations and institutes in the United Kingdom.

In addition to academic collaboration, the MOU will add to the academic network of Khon Kaen University.
