Wednesday August 17, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Sarasin Room, Sirikunakorn Building, Office of the President, Khon Kaen University – A meeting was held to get everything ready for the big festival: “Khon Kaen University’s Community Services”, a project under the KKU-CSV – Khon Kaen University contributes to social values, of the fiscal year 2022. Ajarn Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Assistant to the President for Special Affairs chaired the meeting, which was attended by over 30 administrators, representatives from faculties and different divisions of the University, including staff of the Communications Division, Radio and Mass Media network.
An agreement was made at the meeting to organize the festival called “Khon Kaen University’s Community Services” for 2022 at the Railway Station of Khon Kaen on September 16, 2022. Each faculty and division joined in giving their ideas and informed that they are willing to participate in this KKU CSV Project. It is a good chance for the lecturers, staff and students to contribute in building social values and a network of CSV collaboration for the society in order to strengthen good relationship between the University and the community.
Ajarn Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit explained, “Khon Kaen University has a number of good projects that brings knowledge and services to the community and the public in Khon Kaen. The activities on that day will be various for all age levels, the elderly, adults, children, students, and the public. Many faculties and divisions already informed officially that they are going to have a booth there. For example, for health, the Faculty of Medicine will be providing screening of cervical cancer, giving information about preparation before surgery, first aid, acupuncture, screening Cholangiocarcinoma, heart care by the Northeast Queen Sirikit Heart Center; examining oral health by a team from the Faculty of Dentistry. There will be a booth of the Faculty of Technology providing information about agricultural industry, cooking, food manufacturing, and checking water quality at home, etc.”
“In addition, there will be information booth about entrepreneurship of different professions, information about law by the team of law officers, information about ADHD in children, development for low-learning kids, with a consultation team from the Faculty of Education. There will be activities for young kids to enjoy, a metaverse-experience activity by the KKU Library. For those having pets, they can bring their pets for health check, checking for ticks and fleas, and receiving vaccination against rabies as well as receiving consults.”
“This is a big event where Khon Kaen University will transfer the various knowledge bodies to serve the community at all age ranges. All are invited to join this good activity,” said Ajarn Natsamol.
At the meeting, the conclusion of the “Khon Kaen University’s Community Services” for 2021 was reported. The event was held at the Railway Station of Khon Kaen on September 9, 2021. There were 18 faculties and organizations participating at the event, including the Building Division, the Infrastructure, Energy, and Environment Division, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Security Division, Sports Division, and Digital Technology Office from KKU. The outside organizations joining included: the Railway Station, Mitrapap Ice Factory, Miss Lily Flower Co. Ltd. There were other organizations that joined in providing services to the public: Srinagarind Hospital, Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, the Northeast Project for Prevention and Mitigation of Chronic Renal Disease, Animal Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Project for Poverty Mitigation under the Sufficiency Economy of KKU, Law Division, Blood Bank of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, KKU Radio Network, KKU Library, Queen Sirikit Heart Center. Last year about 500 people both from the city and in the suburb came to the fair. The satisfaction outcome from the survey was 98.8%, proving the effectiveness and efficiency of the event.
