May 2, 2022 – The Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy held an event to transfer lecturers’ and students’ outstanding research works and innovations – the KKBS Show Case: SDGs for prototype innovation communities and exhibition of the Show and Share Project. The project is aimed at socio-economic upgrading for sub-districts (One Tambon One University 2021) and 5 strong communities. The event was honored to have Prof. Thidarat Boonmars, Ph.D., Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise presiding over the opening ceremony. Dr. Wittika Thangchan, Assistant to the Dean for Innovation and Graduate Study of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy delivered the reporting speech. The event was attended by over 100 researchers, lecturers, students and representatives from community enterprises.
Prof. Thidarat Boonmars, Ph.D., Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise of Khon Kaen University explained that Khon Kaen University has worked and supported the policy of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation by participating in the Project for Integrated Socio-economic upgrading of Sub-districts (U2T). The project also covers other areas in the provincial group of Roi-Kaen-Sara-Sin. The Project has led to continuing development and upgrading in all dimensions, owing to the research works and innovations that are meant for community development. The outcomes could be seen as sustainable development from employment and economic restoration in communities. The University truly appreciates the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy for establishing the outstanding prototype innovation community network. The Project has selected the prototype innovation communities, complied outstanding research works and innovations in order to add values to the communities at the international level, as well as to propel more utilization in the business sector. The Project also organized a stage for U2T community innovation forum that publicizes research works and community innovations. This is the channel to link to the community for continually sharing knowledge from research and innovations. In addition, the community ideas for creating innovations are encouraged, enabling communities to come up with research works and innovations that are in accordance with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Project team is determined to drive forward the outstanding U2T community innovations that can be transformed to business and build more new entrepreneurs in this digital era, for true sustainable development.
Dr. Wittika Thangchan, Assistant to the Dean for Innovation and Graduate Study of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy said in her reporting speech, “The transfer of outstanding research works of lecturers and students (KKBS-Show Case), the 2nd SDGs towards the prototype innovation communities and the Show and Share Exhibition (One Tambon One University, 2021) and the 5 strong communities is held today as a stage for presentation of outstanding research works and innovations of students, lecturers, and staff members to the public in order to add values to the community innovations and more benefits in the business sector. The Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy has implemented research in accordance with the strategic plan for transformation of research work into quality research that can be utilized more widely, as well as carrying out works under the OKRs (Objective & Key Result) of 2022. This work involves community and social development for sustainability and to build security for everyone with quality and equity education. The work under this regard promotes chances for lifelong learning, reduces inequality in the country. Budget has been allocated for research, innovation, and academic services for communities in order to strengthen the community people.”
The event featured a forum on the topic of “SDGs to prototype innovation community and the strength in community development. The forum was participated by Prof. Thidarat Boonmars, Ph.D., Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise of Khon Kaen University; Dr. Wittika Thangchan, Assistant to the Dean for Innovation and Graduate Study of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khun Komen Siriket, a representative from the U2T Project 2021 from Na Ngew Sub-district, Khao Suankwang District, Khon Kaen; and Khun Mongkhon Bueksanthia, a representative of a strong community of Ban Nonghoi Chiangsong, Loengtai Sub-district, Kosumpisai District, Mahasarakham. The forum was moderated by Khun Torsak Saennam. The final activity was a visit at the Show and Share Exhibition and the talk about the implementation of the prototype innovation communities from the group experts. The event was organized at Wanglert Room and the activity lawn of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy of Khon Kaen University.
