Faculty of Agriculture, KKU and the allies hold the “Agricultural Service – Training Youths by TIC, Engineering for Society and Cigarette- and Alcohol- Free Value”

February 26, 2022 – Faculty of Agriculture and the allies including Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, To Be Number One International Center (TIC), Stop Drink Network Office, and Kranuan – the First Learning Center (KNOWA) held the “Agricultural Service – Training Youths by TIC, Engineering for Society and Cigarette- and Alcohol- Free Value” at Kranuan Learning Center, Kranuan District, Khon Kaen. Over 200 school students from Sri Kranuan Wittyakom School joined the event which featured different activities: aeration tanks and artificial lake for managing waste water, management of garbage in community canals, sewage treatment system through underground layers of rocks and soils, an activity to build values in cigarette- and alcohol- free, and Happy TIC – building creativity and unity.

On the part of the Faculty of Agriculture, the activity was led by Asst. Prof. Sukallaya Choenkhwan, Ph.D., Assistant to the Dean for Academic Service, Asst. Prof. Sompong Jankaew, Ph.D.; Ajarn Thidarat Monkham, Ph.D., Mr. Watchira Sonpha, and Mr. Chawalit Seeladlao and a team of 15 – 2nd and 4th year students

The farming activities were arranged in 3 learning bases:

  • Rice farming system (dropping, casting, transplanting, and sowing seedlings) and post-paddy cropping (sunhemp, soybean and peanut)
  • Vegetable growing and watering system
  • Flower farming (planting and production planning)

Before the activity of each base, the basic knowledge was given. Students were divided into groups to practice at each base.
