October 5-7, 2021 – The National Thailand Science Council under the Royal Patronage held the 47th International Congress on Science, Technology and Technology-based Innovation (STT 47) and awarded the 2021 Young Rising Stars of Science prizes to students in all fields of sciences. The event this year was organized by Kasetsat University Kamphaengsaen Campus via virtual conference and Zoom Meeting.
Congratulations to the following students from the Faculty of Sciences, Khon Kaen University who won the prizes from their works:
Miss Wanatcha Sa-ingthong and Mr. Anukoon Ketnak, chemistry majored students who received a silver medal in Biology from their research project entitled, “Evaluating physiological responses of newly improved RD6 (RD6 BC4 F4) rice to salt stress at seedling stage”, which was under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Mesaya Thitisaksakul, Ph.D.
Miss Alisa Jenjing, a mathematics majored students who was awarded a bronze medal in the field of Mathematics from her project called “Number-Theoretic Products”, which was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Narakorn Khanasri, Ph.D.
Mr. Sukrit Phetpradittha, a mathematics majored student who was awarded a gold medal in the field of Mathematics from his research work: “Entire Solutions of Some Functional Equations”, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Kiatsuda Nakprasit, Ph.D.
Mr. Panupon Antarabut, a Physics majored student who received a silver medal in the field of Physics from the project called “Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Lithiation and Delithiation Process in Porous Silicon Electrode Material for High-Performance Li-Ion Batteries”, which was supervised by Ajarn Kiattipong Banlusan, Ph.D.
Miss Kannika Wiratchawa, a statistics major, who was awarded a silver medal in computer science from her project entitled: “Development of a Natural Language Processing Dataset and a Machine Leaning Model for Identifying Type of Law of Post in Legal Webboard”, which was under the supervision of Ajarn Tanapong Intara, Ph.D.
The National Thailand Science Council under the Royal Patronage sees the importance in building a new generation of manpower in sciences and technologies so that they will become highly competent scientists and technologists of the country in the future. This will lead to national research and innovation strength that is vital for sustainable socio-economic development. On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the National Thailand Science Council under the Royal Patronage this year, the Council initiated the Young Rising Stars of Science awards in 3 levels: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The prizes were awarded to the final year students in all fields of sciences from all universities in the country whose senior projects in sciences or technologies are outstanding.
Besides honoring these students, the awards will also inspire the students to continue their studies at the graduate level. It is hoped that these students will become scientists or technologists with high competency at the national and international levels.
