The MOA signing ceremony for the joint international Master’s Degree program in International Innovation and Technology Management

March 9, 2021, 13:30 p.m. at Conference Room 5, 3rd Floor, Northeast Science Park Main Building – Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University presided over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Agreement for academic collaboration in the opening of the international joint Master of Science Program In International Technology and Innovation Management (an International Program under the Multidisciplinary Curriculum). The program will entirely uses English as the instructional medium. Prof. Dr. La-orsri Sanohmuang, Dean of the International College; Asst. Prof. Dr. Somkiat Srijaranai, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornthep Thanonkaew, Dean of the Faculty of Technology; and Dr. Apirachai Wongsriworapon, Director of the Northeast Science Park of Khon Kaen University signed the MOA. Among the attendants were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maitree Inprasitha, Vice President for Education and Academic Service and a lot of lecturers. The ceremony began with Prof. Dr. La-orsri Sanohmuang, Dean of the International College conveying the reporting speech of the background behind the Memorandum of Agreement. Next, Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University made an opening address: “I believe this program will train graduates who will be efficiently working in the field of technology and innovation. The program will bring reputation to the International College, Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Technology, and the Science Park, to whom I am grateful for developing this program that responds to a strategy of Khon Kaen University.”

The ceremony continued with Asst. Prof. Chavis Ketkaew, Associate Dean of the International College for Academic Affairs and Research explaining about the details of the Master of Science Program in International Technology and Innovation Management (International Program, Multidisciplinary Curriculum). Next, Dr. Apirachai Wongsriworapon, Director of the Northeast Science Park of Khon Kaen University gave a talk on the successful innovations that have been supported by the Northeast Science Park.

The Master of Science Program In International Technology and Innovation Management (International Program, Multidisciplinary Curriculum) has been developed from the fact that Khon Kaen University is a resource of potential and competent professors, who are well qualified and prepared to build collaborative networks with other organizations to produce graduates with knowledge and capabilities in modern technologies. This has brought about the collaboration of the International College, Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Technology, and the Northeast Science Park. This program corresponds to the policy and direction and follows the administrative strategy of of Khon Kaen University, where the principle objective of the second pillar – Academic Excellence – has been set to emphasize training of entrepreneurs and the workforce in the modern industrial sector, technological and innovation management. The outcomes will be creation of high-value innovations, which will meet the needs of consumers. This will rely on the knowledge in sciences and innovations as the tool to create a new perspective of businesses. The competency of graduates in English language will bring to them the chances of progress in the society and businesses. The requirement for the students to do their thesis or independent study in the topics related to international technology and innovation management will also promote their self-learning skills through analytical thinking, creativity and application.
