KKU Physical Therapy Students Clinch Gold Medal at the 15th National PTRS Symposium

On May 28, 2026, faculty members and students from the Physical Therapy program, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Khon Kaen University (KKU), participated in The 15th Physical Therapy Research Symposium (15th PTRS). The national event was held at the Thamrong Buasri Convention Hall, Burapha University.

At this prestigious symposium, fourth-year physical therapy students Ms. Pornpawee Thawthaisong and Ms. Kanchalika Ngamying won the First Prize Gold Medal for their oral presentation titled:

“Immediate Effects of Ruesi-Dudton Exercise on Craniovertebral Angle, Neck-Shoulder Pain, Stress, and Reaction Time in Students with Smartphone Addiction”

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sugalya Amatachaya.

A Highly Competitive National Stage

This year’s symposium saw fierce competition, bringing together 15 educational institutions, over 455 participants, and a total of 148 undergraduate research projects presented across oral and poster categories.

KKU’s physical therapy students showcased their academic strengths in both formats:

  • Oral Presentation Winners: Ms. Pornpawee Thawthaisong and Ms. Kanchalika Ngamying (Gold Medal).

Poster Presentations: Represented by Ms SASITHRON CHUANKID, Ms PATCHARIN PROMMAWAN, Ms. ANAMIKA PENCHOM, Mr. NATTHANAN NUYONRAM, Mr. RAPEEPONG TORPOM  , Mr. OAMMARIT YINGKHONGDEE and Mr. PONGPASIN RUPRASERTDHON

Voices of Success and Pride

Ms. Pornpawee Thawthaisong shared her excitement:

“I am incredibly proud and happy. The entire process was challenging and required immense dedication—from deep research and data collection to presenting on a national stage. This experience taught me systematic research skills and teamwork. I want to thank our advisor, teammates, and everyone who pushed us toward this success.”

Ms. Kanchalika Ngamying added:

“Presenting our research at a national level was an invaluable experience. It opened up new perspectives and boosted my confidence in both academic and communication skills. Huge thanks to our advisor, the committee, Master’s degree seniors, and our classmates for their constant support.”

Driving the Future of Physical Therapy

The event also featured a special ceremony themed “United for Young Physical Therapy Researchers,” highlighting the collaborative efforts of professional physical therapy organizations to nurture research and innovation capabilities among Thai students.
