The global community is currently confronting critical challenges regarding energy, the environment, and the transition to a low-carbon economy. Khon Kaen University possesses a vast wealth of knowledge, advanced research, and high-potential personnel capable of tangibly enhancing the competitiveness of Thai businesses alongside sustainable growth and environmental responsibility. To address these needs, the Faculty of Engineering at Khon Kaen University has collaborated with EN ESG Plus Co., Ltd., a collaborative network of experts in engineering, energy, the environment, and sustainability, to host the official launch of the company under the theme “Building a Sustainable Future Together” on 17 June 2026. The event presented the company’s vision and business direction aimed at fostering cooperation between academia and the industrial sector.
The launching ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Khon Kaen University. The event featured a special keynote address by Mr. Kobchai Sangsittisawat, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Chief Advisor of EN ESG Plus, alongside an corporate vision presentation by Mr. Torchai Supattanawanich, Chief Executive Officer of EN ESG Plus Co., Ltd. The launch was highly attended by executives from the government, private, and industrial sectors, as well as faculty members, researchers, alumni, and distinguished guests at the Main Conference Room, 4th Floor, 50th Anniversary Engineering Building (Wisawo Ruam Jai), Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University.
Assoc. Prof. Suntivarakorn stated that while the university possesses extensive expertise and research capabilities, the critical factor is having an efficient mechanism to transfer this knowledge to the production, business, and industrial sectors. The Faculty of Engineering has therefore supported the establishment of EN ESG Plus to serve as a platform for concrete collaboration. Operating as part of the ENKKU Holding Company, it is envisioned to become a vital force in driving energy and environmental sustainability, ultimately growing into a collaborative centre that generates long-term value and quality personnel for society.
Highlighting the urgency of the industrial transition, Mr. Kobchai Sangsittisawat emphasized in his keynote address that adopting the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) framework is no longer an optional choice for public relations but a necessity for survival in the global trade arena. He noted that moving processes towards carbon neutrality and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions requires advanced engineering technology and tangible innovation. The establishment of EN ESG Plus will effectively bridge these advanced academic solutions with practical industrial applications, elevating the competitive capabilities of Thai commercial enterprises.
Mr. Torchai Supattanawanich further explained that EN ESG Plus operates as a university-linked enterprise with the distinct advantage of pooling top-tier experts, faculty members, and researchers to deliver tailored solutions across three core areas: energy, environment, and ESG-compliant business operations. Rather than acting as a conventional consultancy, the company serves as an innovation-driven platform transforming laboratory research from the Faculty of Engineering into commercial reality. This approach allows business operators to efficiently transform their operations to meet Net Zero targets and grow together sustainably under the core philosophy of the enterprise.
The launch of EN ESG Plus Co., Ltd. under the ENKKU Holding Company marks a significant milestone for the Faculty of Engineering at Khon Kaen University in creating a tangible mechanism for green innovation. The ultimate goal of this collaboration extends beyond commercializing advanced laboratory research; it also prepares faculty members and students by engaging them with real-world industrial challenges. This experiential learning nurtures high-quality personnel for the future, positioning them as an essential driving force for Thailand to achieve its carbon neutrality goals alongside sustainable economic and environmental development.
