KKU Office of Academic Administration and Development Hosts Workshop on CWIE as an Assessment Tool for Programme Learning Outcomes

On 12 May 2026, the Office of Academic Administration and Development at Khon Kaen University (KKU) organised the second workshop titled “CWIE: A Tool for Assessing Programme Learning Outcomes”. The session aimed to strengthen faculty members’ capacity to develop assessment tools for Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs) through Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE). The event, held at the Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre, was attended by 44 participants representing 31 academic programmes across 16 faculties.

The workshop featured distinguished guest speakers who shared their expertise in linking Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs) with assessments in practical, real-world work environments. They also provided guidance on developing concrete assessment tools that can be effectively applied to various curricula. These tools are intended to accurately reflect student potential and elevate the overall quality of educational management at the University.

Associate Professor Wanwipa Kaewpradit Polpinit stated that this workshop provided a platform for participants to engage in practical activities, including the analysis, design, and exchange of assessment methodologies. She emphasised that the initiative represents a significant step in driving Khon Kaen University’s “Education Transformation” policy, which focuses on developing curricula that meet the demands of 21st-century learning while remaining aligned with both national and international educational standards.

The successful implementation of CWIE as an assessment framework is expected to yield tangible outcomes in curriculum quality. By integrating academic theory with professional practice, the University ensures that its graduates possess the competencies required by the modern labour market. This systematic approach to assessment allows for continuous curriculum improvement based on evidence from actual student performance in professional settings.

This initiative aligns with Khon Kaen University’s broader mission to foster academic excellence and innovation in teaching. By empowering faculty members with advanced pedagogical tools, KKU continues to strengthen its position as a leading institution dedicated to student development and social contribution through high-quality, relevant education.
