KKU Division of Enterprise and Societal Sustainability Drives “KKU Societal Contribution” by Integrating Knowledge into the Community for Sustainable Value

On Friday, 6 March 2026, the Division of Enterprise and Societal Sustainability of Khon Kaen University, led by Professor Thidarut Boonmars, Vice President for Enterprise and Societal Sustainability, participated in the opening ceremony of the “KKU Societal Contribution” fair. The event was officially opened by Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, at the ground floor plaza of Khon Kaen Railway Station. Held between 09:00 and 15:00 hrs, the fair offered free services and exhibitions to the public.

The atmosphere at the event was vibrant, with a continuous flow of visitors attending the service booths and exhibitions. This engagement highlighted Khon Kaen University’s significant role as a university dedicated to societal contribution, bringing its knowledge, research, and innovations into public spaces. The initiative aims to make knowledge accessible to the public, empowering them to apply it for tangible improvements in their quality of life.

On this occasion, the Division of Enterprise and Societal Sustainability supported the event through its affiliated agencies, including the Centre for Museums and Lifelong Learning Resources, the Royal Initiative Projects Coordination Centre, the Agriculture and Food Pilot Plant, and the KKU Science Park. These units hosted exhibition booths to disseminate knowledge and provide consultations on various topics, such as community product development, food processing, career promotion, and creating learning experiences from the university’s expertise that can lead to sustainable improvements in quality of life.

The “KKU Societal Contribution” fair consolidated services from numerous university departments, covering health, law, business, and community development. It provided the public with an opportunity to access these services free of charge, reflecting the collaborative efforts between the university and its network partners to enhance the well-being of people in the northeastern region.

This event also underscored Khon Kaen University’s commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). It reinforces the university’s role in integrating knowledge into society to help build a strong, equitable, and sustainable community.
