Warmth, vibrancy, and the spirit of public service return as Khon Kaen University prepares to host the “KKU Societal Contribution Expo,” its flagship annual academic outreach initiative. Now in its sixth year, the event will take place on Friday, 6 March 2026, from 09:00 to 15:00 hrs at the Khon Kaen Railway Station.
This year, more than 50 university units and partner organisations will join forces to deliver complimentary services and expert consultations to the public. The Expo is structured around four main service categories:
1. Health Services: Services are provided by various medical faculties and centres, including Srinagarind Hospital, the Queen Sirikit Heart Centre of the Northeast, the Royal Dental Unit, the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, and the Regional Medical Science Centre 7 Khon Kaen. Offerings include general and specialised health screenings, vaccinations, disease screening, mental health counselling, and activities promoting nutritional knowledge and physical rehabilitation, such as acupuncture, cupping, and traditional Thai massage, available throughout the day.
- Education and Knowledge Services: Faculties and colleges across the University will present interactive learning activities and research-based knowledge, including robotics and virtual reality demonstrations, educational board games, legal and business consultations, food processing showcases, and exhibitions of research for social impact.
A multicultural photo booth featuring Chinese, Japanese, and Korean themes, hosted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, will further enrich cultural understanding alongside professional services.
3. Career Promotion and Development: Several faculties and institutes will showcase community products, research, and innovations related to agriculture and food. This includes career development programmes coordinated by the Northeastern Strategic and Collaborative Research Institute for Regional Development and the Khon Kaen City Municipality, aimed at enhancing the professional potential of local citizens.
4. Pet Care Services: The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine will provide essential, complimentary pet care services for dogs and cats, including general health check-ups, vaccinations, and parasite and flea/tick control.
The public intending to receive health services should bring their national identification cards for registration, particularly for the influenza vaccination and traditional Chinese medicine services. Those opting for Chinese medical services, such as cupping, are advised to wear comfortable clothing for ease of examination and treatment.
Members of the public are invited to experience the atmosphere and utilise these complimentary services at the “KKU Societal Contribution Expo” on Friday, 6 March 2026, from 09:00 to 15:00 hrs, at the Khon Kaen Railway Station.
