50 Booths Ready to Serve Khon Kaen Community at KKU Societal Contribution Expo, Held at the Khon Kaen Railway Station

The warmth, vibrancy, and spirit of giving are set to return as Khon Kaen University (KKU) prepares to host the “KKU Societal Contribution Expo,” an annual academic service project dedicated to benefiting the community. Now in its sixth year, this major community outreach event is scheduled for Friday, 6 March 2026, from 09:00 to 15:00 hrs at the Khon Kaen Railway Station.

This year’s event represents a unified effort by more than 50 internal and external university units, pooling their expertise and academic knowledge to provide complimentary services and consultations to the public. The services are organised into four main categories:

1. Health Services: Services are provided by various medical faculties and centres, including Srinagarind Hospital, the Queen Sirikit Heart Centre of the Northeast, the Royal Dental Unit, the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, and the Regional Medical Science Centre 7 Khon Kaen. Offerings include general and specialised health screenings, vaccinations, disease screening, mental health counselling, and activities promoting nutritional knowledge and physical rehabilitation, such as acupuncture, cupping, and traditional Thai massage, available throughout the day.

2. Education and Knowledge Services: Numerous faculties and colleges will offer educational activities and knowledge sharing. These include demonstrations of robotics technology and virtual reality (VR), educational board games, legal and business consulting, food processing demonstrations, academic exhibitions, and presentations of research findings focused on social benefits. Furthermore, engaging activities, such as a Chinese, Japanese, and Korean multicultural photo booth hosted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, will broaden cultural enlightenment alongside professional services.

3. Career Promotion and Development: Several faculties and institutes will showcase community products, research, and innovations related to agriculture and food. This includes career development programmes coordinated by the Northeastern Strategic and Collaborative Research Institute for Regional Development and the Khon Kaen City Municipality, aimed at enhancing the professional potential of local citizens.

4. Pet Care Services: The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine will provide essential, complimentary pet care services for dogs and cats, including general health check-ups, vaccinations, and parasite and flea/tick control.

The public intending to receive health services should bring their national identification cards for registration, particularly for the influenza vaccination and traditional Chinese medicine services. Those opting for Chinese medical services, such as cupping, are advised to wear comfortable clothing for ease of examination and treatment.

Members of the public are invited to experience the atmosphere and utilise these complimentary services at the “KKU Societal Contribution Expo” on Friday, 6 March 2026, from 09:00 to 15:00 hrs, at the Khon Kaen Railway Station.
