This expedition transcended mere participation; it served as a significant gateway for exchanging ideas and innovations in local governance with experts and practitioners from across Asia. Furthermore, the delegation gained valuable insights into Chinese history and culture by visiting key historical sites. This acquired knowledge is intended to be used to enhance the capacity for local governance in Thailand, preparing the participants to become vital forces in the country’s future development.

 

Reflections from Participating Students

“This is the most important self-challenge I have ever taken!” remarked one of the master’s degree students. “Attending this conference has made me incredibly proud of myself. It truly broadened my perspective on things I had only theorised about, challenging me to take on new tasks I had never attempted before.”

Students also highlighted the professional benefit of presenting their research. “The opportunity to discuss our research findings with the audience was an invaluable experience. We can also integrate the concepts gained from listening to the research presentations of international peers to further refine and improve our own studies.”

The participation in this event underscores COLA’s commitment to developing Thai local administrators with international capabilities and opening doors for the exchange of knowledge in public affairs management with academics from all over Asia.
