Khon Kaen University PR Officer Gains International Recognition with Photo Contest Win

A public relations specialist from Khon Kaen University has won the top national prize in a prestigious ASEAN-wide photography competition.

Preedee Sritrakul, a staff member in the university’s Division of Student Development and Alumni Relations, was named the “Thailand National Award” winner in The ASEAN SX Photo Contest 2025. His winning entry was submitted under the theme “Water and Adaptation.”

The competition, open to photographers from all 10 ASEAN member nations, was organized by Thai Beverage Public Company Limited in collaboration with the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand (RPST) and judged by an international panel of experts.

As the national winner for Thailand, Mr. Preedee will receive a cash prize of approximately 30,000 baht (US$920). His photograph will also be featured at the SUSTAINABILITY EXPO 2025, described as the largest sustainability event in the ASEAN region. The expo is scheduled to take place from September 26 to October 5, 2025, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok.

This international recognition follows a recent national success for Mr. Preedee. He previously won first place in a photography contest organized by the Royal Irrigation Department on the theme of “The Power of Irrigation for Security and Sustainability.” The award ceremony for that competition was held on January 17, 2025, at the department’s headquarters in Bangkok.

Khon Kaen University highlighted Mr. Preedee’s achievements as a reflection of its policy to encourage the holistic development of its staff. The university stated that it supports personnel in showcasing their talents beyond their primary duties, aiming to foster inspiration and continuous self-improvement on both national and international stages.
