Faculty of Law, Khon Kaen University Partners with Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) to Enhance Academic Collaboration and Access to Justice

On September 19, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Khon Kaen University entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC). This collaboration seeks to promote advancements in academic development, legal services, and the professional capacity of individuals in the legal field. The partnership places significant emphasis on fostering peaceful and sustainable dispute resolution while creating experiential learning opportunities to enhance students’ practical skills.

This initiative aligns with the Faculty of Law’s core mission to cultivate high-quality law graduates with a strong sense of social responsibility, reinforcing its commitment to serve as a “Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution for the Community.” Key initiatives stemming from this collaboration include establishing a Community Mediation Center, providing arbitration services, training programs for arbitrators and mediators, and providing advisory services related to international trade and investment law for the public.

 

Moreover, the partnership will focus on capacity-building programs for faculty members, students, and staff to deepen their expertise in arbitration and international dispute resolution. This preparation is essential for equipping legal professionals to address the challenges of a globalized society and contribute to a just and sustainable future.

The academic collaboration between the Faculty of Law at Khon Kaen University and THAC not only solidifies the Faculty’s position as a pivotal player in advancing justice within society but also represents a meaningful progression towards establishing a comprehensive learning environment and professional development platform for competent legal practitioners at both national and international levels. This vision resonates with the Faculty’s aspiration to become a “Leading Legal Institution for Sustainable Social Justice.”

 

This collaboration aligns with the Faculty of Law’s mission to produce high-quality legal graduates with a strong sense of social responsibility. It further reinforces the faculty’s role as a “center for alternative dispute resolution for the public.” This is achieved through initiatives such as establishing a Community Mediation Center, providing arbitration services, training arbitrators and mediators, and offering consultation on international investment and trade to the general public.

This initiative is designed to advance their knowledge in international arbitration and dispute management, thereby preparing legal professionals for the modern world and contributing to sustainable justice within society.
