Khon Kaen University (KKU) is enhancing its student development network with the aim of cultivating a new generation of graduates embodying the “EGGS” KKU Students’ Identity. The initiative was highlighted during a seminar for student development network personnel, held from September 11-12, 2068, in Udon Thani province. Organized by the Division of Student Affairs and Innovative Entrepreneurship, under the Student Development and Alumni Relations Department, the “Seminar on Service and Student Development Skill Enhancement for Student Development Network Personnel, Fiscal Year 2568” aimed to empower faculty administrators, lecturers, and staff involved in student development. The goal is to equip them with the skills and readiness to drive the university’s strategic objectives, particularly in shaping the “EGGS” student identity.
Associate Professor Dr. Pensri Jaroenwanit, Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovative Entrepreneurship, delivered a keynote address outlining the university’s student affairs policies, key objectives, and results indicators (OKRs). She emphasized the importance of communicating the “EGGS” Identity concept to prepare the network for practical implementation.
“This student development network seminar marks a crucial step in uniting our efforts to drive the university’s new strategy,” Dr. Pensri stated. “We are not merely focused on developing staff skills, but collectively building a future for our students through the ‘EGGS’ Identity to sustainably enhance their capabilities. Strengthening this collaborative network is key to elevating the quality of student services and development in all dimensions.”
Key highlights of the seminar included:
- Special Lecture on “Student Development through the KKU Soft Skills Academy (KKUSSA) Platform” Mr. Rusdee Waeduraman, developer of the KKU IDHub system, provided insights and guidance on utilizing new digital tools to promote student skills.
- Brainstorming Sessions: Participants were divided into groups to analyze data and design extracurricular activities or courses aimed at fostering the “EGGS” identity, with a focus on measurable outcomes. The groups collaboratively designed approaches to promote the four aspects of the EGGS identity:
- E – Entrepreneurial (possessing an entrepreneurial mindset)
- G – Global-minded (having a global perspective and knowledge)
- G – Growth-oriented (committed to continuous growth and development)
- S – Sustainable-focused (attentive to sustainability)
The seminar saw strong cooperation from administrators, lecturers, and staff across all faculties. This event is considered a significant first step in building a robust collaborative network, which is expected to elevate the quality of student services and development, fostering graduates with global citizen attributes. This initiative aligns with the university’s strategy to produce high-quality graduates who will be vital forces in driving sustainable societal development.
