BANGKOK – Khon Kaen University’s Academic Service Bureau, in collaboration with the Rak School for Leadership Development and Peace Building, recently conducted its 9th training course on “Medical Dispute Mediation.” The program aims to equip healthcare and legal professionals with skills for creative conflict management, reducing disputes, and restoring relationships within the healthcare system.
Held from July 29-31, 2025, at the SD Avenue Hotel in Bangkok, the intensive course drew 33 participants, including doctors, nurses, and legal officers from leading hospitals across Thailand.
The curriculum emphasized participatory learning through practical workshops and simulations. Participants were trained in essential skills, including:
- Positive communication techniques to overcome disagreements.
- Principles of apology and sustainable relationship restoration.
- Systematic approaches to understanding and resolving conflicts.
- Emotional management during crisis situations.
- Analysis and mediation of disputes based on real-world case studies.
The training was led by a distinguished team of instructors, headed by Professor Dr. Wanchai Wattanasap, along with facilitators from the Rak School.
Khon Kaen University stated its commitment to continuing the program as part of its mission to contribute high-quality personnel to Thailand’s healthcare and justice systems. The university views the initiative as a crucial step toward reducing societal conflict and promoting sustainable peace.
