An academic from the Faculty of Technology at Khon Kaen University has won the first runner-up prize at an innovation conference for developing a virtual geology laboratory integrated with an AI-powered chatbot.
Associate Professor Dr. Vimolthip Singtheun, a lecturer in the Geotechnology program, received the award on August 22, 2025, at the INNOTECH SHOW & SHARE 2025 academic conference.
Her winning project, titled “GEOLAB+: Virtual Rock-Mineral Laboratory with a LINE Chatbot Geology Learning Assistant,” is an integrated educational tool. It combines a simulated virtual laboratory with an intelligent chatbot, providing students and interested individuals with modern, convenient, and efficient access to knowledge about minerals, rocks, and geological data.
The INNOTECH SHOW & SHARE 2025 conference, held at Khon Kaen University, was designed as a platform for exchanging knowledge and innovations in education. The event focused on applying digital technology and Generative AI to develop essential 21st-century skills in learners, supporting the university’s transition into a leading Digital University.
