On August 17, 2025, the Enterprise and Social Sustainability Division of Khon Kaen University (KKU), through the Agricultural and Food Prototype Factory, organized food workshops at the MHESI Fair 2025 held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok.
The workshops included cupcake decorating, traditional Thai fruit-shaped mung bean desserts (Luk Chup), and chocolate ball making, offering participants direct hands-on experiences in food preparation. These activities provided not only practical skills but also insights into processes and techniques that can be applied and further developed.
The initiative aimed to create authentic learning experiences in the field of food while showcasing KKU’s academic expertise and innovations in the food industry. This effort highlights the University’s role in advancing knowledge and fostering creativity for the benefit of both society and the food sector in a sustainable way.
Furthermore, the activities aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): promoting inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities (SDG 4), advancing industry, innovation, and food processing linked to economic and industrial development (SDG 9), and encouraging responsible consumption and production by applying food science to add value and optimize resource use (SDG 12). These initiatives reflect Khon Kaen University’s commitment to integrating the SDGs into academic endeavors and community engagement.
