Khon Kaen University (KKU), through the Khon Kaen University Science Park, led student representatives to participate in SITE 2025 (Startup x Innovation Thailand Expo 2025) under the theme “Global Innovation Partnership: AI and Sustainability – The Next Era of Innovation.” The event aims to promote global collaboration in innovation and elevate Thai startups to international standards.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, and attended by ambassadors, government agencies, private sector representatives, and over 350 partner organizations. The event took place from July 4–6, 2025, at Siam Paragon Hall, 5th floor, Siam Paragon, Bangkok.
KKU Science Park brought students who had been selected through the Startup Thailand League 2025: Regional Pitching competition to exhibit their projects alongside 100 other prototype innovations developed by student teams from 50 leading universities nationwide.
The selected student teams from Khon Kaen University received funding support and presented their innovations at the expo. These included:
Team KIIPU: An online claw machine platform.
Team Cupcycle: A one-stop 3D printing service using recycled Polylactic Acid (PLA) plastic waste.
Team Nexter: A facial cleansing sheet developed from bacterial cellulose and carboxylate compounds.
Notably, Team KIIPU also advanced to compete in the National Pitching round of the Startup Thailand League 2025.
KKU’s participation in this event underscores the vital role of the Khon Kaen University Science Park in promoting experiential learning, nurturing youth innovation, and preparing students to become future technology entrepreneurs. These efforts are key to driving sustainable and internationally competitive economic growth for Thailand.
