Three KKU Student Teams Advance to National Stage of Startup Thailand League 2025

On May 31, 2025, the Regional Science Park Northeast 1 (RSP NE1), hosted by Khon Kaen University Science Park, welcomed the National Innovation Agency (NIA) for the Startup Thailand League 2025: Northeastern Regional Pitching event. Held at the Regional Science Park Administration Building in Khon Kaen Province, the event aimed to identify student teams with innovative business ideas and support their development into high-potential startup entrepreneurs.

The competition brought together over 40 student teams from 8 universities across Northeast Thailand, providing a platform for students to pitch their business plans in front of expert judges. Dr. Apirachai Wongsriworapon, Director of Khon Kaen University Science Park, delivered opening remarks, while Dr. Kritchphaka Boonfueng, Executive Director of NIA, presented awards and congratulated the winning teams. The judging panel consisted of distinguished experts from government, industry, and the startup community.

 

KKU’s Three Outstanding Teams Moving to the National Round:

  1. Team KIIPU
  • Project: An online claw machine gaming platform
  • Faculty: Undergraduate students from the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy
  • Award: 1st Runner-up (Regional Level)
  • Qualified for National Round

  1. Team Cupcycle
  • Project: A one-stop service for 3D printing using recycled Polylactic Acid (PLA) plastic waste
  • Faculty: Undergraduate students from the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy and Faculty of Engineering
  • Award: Qualified for Demo Day

 

  1. Team Nexter
  • Project: Facial cleansing pads made from bacterial cellulose and carboxylate
  • Faculty: Graduate students from the College of Graduate Study in Management
  • Award: Qualified for Demo Day

 

All three teams will represent the Northeastern region at the Demo Day round, presenting their innovations at SITE 2025: Global Innovation Partnership, under the theme “AI & Sustainability: The Next Era of Innovation,” to be held from July 4–6, 2025 at Siam Paragon Hall, 5th Floor, Bangkok.

 

This event reaffirms the role of RSP Northeast 1 and Khon Kaen University Science Park in promoting hands-on learning, fostering entrepreneurial spirit, and empowering students to become future technology-driven entrepreneurs who contribute to Thailand’s sustainable economic development.
