Students from Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Architecture (academic year 2023) have won three awards in the “THESIS OF THE YEAR AWARD 2024” (TOY arch 2024) competition. The results were announced on May 4, 2025, at the Architect’68 event held at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani in Bangkok.
The annual TOY arch competition is organized by the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA) and the Council of Deans of Architecture Schools of Thailand (CDAST). It aims to motivate students to produce exceptional thesis work and to inspire subsequent students in their own thesis projects.
All three awards for Khon Kaen University were in the Main Architecture category for the Northeastern region:
- First Prize (Northeastern Region): Ms. Panipak Kaodilok for the thesis “SCENT OF ESSENTIAL OILS LEARNING CENTER.” Her advisor was Assistant Professor Khemachot Phuprasert.
- Second Prize (Northeastern Region): Ms. Natthanich Somros for the thesis “TOH DEANG PEAT SWAMP FOREST AWARENESS CENTER.” Her advisor was Assistant Professor Dr. Jantanee Jirandhanat.
- Honorable Mention (Northeastern Region): Mr. Phopthorn Kittipreeya for the thesis “whale sharktopia suratthani aquarium & learning center.” His advisor was Associate Professor Dr. Noppadol Tangsakul.
