The Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University (KKU), in collaboration with the Vocational Education Institute of Northeastern Region 3, organised the “AI Literacy: Train the Trainer” workshop. This programme aimed to enhance the competencies of teachers, lecturers, and educational personnel by providing foundational knowledge and understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), enabling participants to apply AI appropriately in classroom management and professional practice.
The programme featured Assistant Professor Panupong Wanjantuk, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Technology Transfer, as the primary lecturer. He was joined by personnel from the Engineering Operations and Services Unit and lecturers from the Vocational Education Institute of Northeastern Region 3, who shared their expertise and facilitated activities throughout the project.
The workshop was delivered across four regional sessions to ensure broad geographic coverage:
- Mahasarakham Technical College, Mahasarakham Province (17 January 2026)
- Roi Et Technical College, Roi Et Province (18 January 2026)
- Kalasin Technical College, Kalasin Province (24 January 2026)
- Khon Kaen Vocational Education College, Khon Kaen Province (25 January 2026)
Over 350 teachers, lecturers, and personnel from affiliated institutions showed keen interest and actively participated in the learning process during the training.
The core objective of the programme was to establish a solid foundation in AI Literacy, encompassing core concepts of AI and Generative AI, ethical considerations, and the potential impacts of AI on education and society. Participants were encouraged not only to apply this knowledge in their own professional contexts but also to transfer and scale it within their institutions. Ultimately, the initiative is expected to contribute to the sustainable enhancement of educational quality and the development of a digitally competent workforce.
