KKU International Relations Division Holds Orientation for ‘Chit Chat in KKU Workplace 2026’

On Friday, 30 January 2026, the International Relations Division (IRD) of Khon Kaen University (KKU) hosted the orientation ceremony for the “Chit Chat in KKU Workplace 2026” project. The event took place at Sirikunakorn Meeting Room 3, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building.

Mr. Issara Suriyakul Na Ayudhaya, Director of the International Relations Division, presided over the session and welcomed the attendees. Participants included international students and staff members from various departments and faculties across Khon Kaen University.

During the orientation, IRD officers provided essential information regarding the programme, including its objectives, operational framework, and activity schedule for the upcoming weeks. The participating university units were also introduced to promote mutual understanding and effective preparation prior to the commencement of the collaborative international workplace experience.

The “Chit Chat in KKU Workplace” programme is a flagship initiative continuously implemented by the IRD since 2021 and has consistently received positive feedback from both international students and university personnel. This year’s participants hail from diverse countries, including Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, and Nigeria. They will learn and work collaboratively with various internal units across the university.

The programme’s primary objectives are to enhance English communication skills in the workplace, create a supportive English-language environment within the organisation, and develop students’ professional competencies through hands-on assignments alongside Thai personnel. This initiative aligns strongly with the university’s strategy of internationalisation, offering participants an opportunity to improve their language proficiency, build professional competencies, engage in creative activities, and gain valuable work experience.

The session concluded with a “Speed Friend” activity, designed to provide participants with a space to practise English communication, build familiarity, and strengthen relationships between international students and university staff. The atmosphere was warm and filled with energy for learning, truly reflecting Khon Kaen University’s readiness to establish a genuinely international work environment.
