รศ.นพ.ชาญชัย พานทองวิริยะกุล อธิการบดี มข. ร่วมงานวันนักข่าว ประจำปี 2564 พร้อมกล่าวถึงบทบาท ม.ขอนแก่น ที่เชื่อมโยงงานวิชาการ กับการเติบโต-พัฒนาเศรษฐกิจเมืองขอนแก่น วันที่ 5 มีนาคม 2564 รศ.นพ.ชาญชัย พานทองวิริยะกุล อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น นำบุคลากร ม.ขอนแก่น เข้าร่วมงาน “วันนักข่าว และงานสื่อสารมวลชนแห่งชาติ ประจำปี 2564” พร้อมมอบเงินสนับสนุน ให้กับชมรมนักข่าว-นักหนังสือพิมพ์และนักจัดรายการ จังหวัดขอนแก่นด้วย ณ ห้อง Graceland coffee shop โรงแรมเจริญธานี จังหวัดขอนแก่น ภายในงานได้รับเกียรติจาก ท่านสุชัย บุตรสาระ สมาชิกวุฒิสภา เป็นประธานกล่าวเปิดงาน จากนั้น รศ.นพ.ชาญชัย พานทองวิริยะกุล อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้รับเกียรติขึ้นกล่าว ถึงบทบาท ของมหาวิทยาลัยในการให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านเศรษฐกิจ และเชื่อมโยงหลักวิชาการ กับการพัฒนาเมือง ของจังหวัดขอนแก่น ว่า “การพัฒนาศักยภาพของจังหวัดขอนแก่น สู่ความเป็น MICE city มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นเป็นหนึ่งหน่วยงานใหญ่ ที่มีการจัดประชุมสัมมนาเยอะที่สุดใน จ.ขอนแก่น ในระยะเวลา 2 ปี
