KKU Library delivers kindness from Khon Kaen residents to flood victims

On October 3, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supach Sinawat, Director of the Library, Khon Kaen University, along with the executives and staff of the Library, brought 100 relief bags donated by philanthropists and other necessary supplies to be delivered to students and staff of the School for the Blind in Khon Kaen Province who were affected by the flood. Dr. Prasert Pratumrat, Assistant Director of Administration and Infrastructure, and Mrs. Thassanee Inlam, Director of the Library Administration Division, were representatives who delivered the relief bags and other donated supplies to flood victims at the School for the Blind in Khon Kaen Province. We were honored to have Mr. Winij Moonwicha, Deputy Director of Special Affairs of the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under Royal Patronage, Mr. Tuenjit Moonin, Manager of the School for the Blind in Khon Kaen, and Mr. Sanong Chuansang, Director of the Center for Educational Technology for the Blind, accepting 100 relief bags and other supplies donated by philanthropists for further use. Khon Kaen University Library strengthens relationships with world-class universities

On September 26, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supach Sinawat, Director of the Library Office, along with executives and staff of the Khon Kaen University Library Office, welcomed Professor Christopher Mow from Stanford University, USA, and took them on a tour of the library's operations as a Learning Center for All, a new dimension in university library services that focuses on supporting lifelong learning for users at all levels. Professor Christopher Mow was interested in the inspirational learning space that the library has provided a variety of learning support equipment, such as VR Headset, which helps enhance imagination and learning through the metaverse experience. KKU Library showcases virtual world technology that shrinks the world at the Northeastern Book Fair

The Library of Khon Kaen University, as a Learning Center for All, is aware of the rapid changes in technology that may lead to changes in people's lifestyles in society in the near future, especially the development of access to the digital virtual world or metaverse to enhance the learning experience to create learning at the Library, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supach Sinawat, Director of the Library, Khon Kaen University, has organized a project to promote learning through experiences in the virtual world or metaverse experience. It has also provided VR Headset, a device that will allow users to experience the virtual world. In order to inspire learning through the virtual world Through VR Headset, this device was brought to join the exhibition booth under the activity to promote learning for people of all ages at the 9th Northeast Book Fair, from October 27 to November 2, 2021 at the Kanchanaphisek Multipurpose Convention Center, Khon Kaen University. The Library Office organizes a Hackathon to find waste management projects to produce energy in the Srichan area, a new creative economic area for Khon Kaen residents.

KKU Maker Space, Khon Kaen University Library, in collaboration with TCDC Khon Kaen FabCafe Bangkok and many partners, have joined hands to organize the “Waste to Energy Hackathon” as part of the project to create innovations in electricity generation from renewable energy organized by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and the Creative Economy Agency (CEA). The “Waste to Energy Hackathon” competition was held to find creative projects that could be applied in real life in the Srichan area, a new creative economic area of Khon Kaen Province, during December 18-19, 2020 at the Khon Kaen University Library. The event was honored to have Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wanida Kaen-Akat (Khon Kaen University Library), Ms. Jintana Chuphromwong (TCDC Khon Kaen), Mr. Pititat Waiviriya (KHOR CORPERATION), and Mr. Samatphon Tanphan (FabCafe Bangkok) as judges. Thailand AI University Consortium crystallizes AI technology to drive Thailand forward

Artificial intelligence (AI) is continuously advancing and plays a crucial role in our daily lives. The six Thai AI University Networks, namely Khon Kaen University, Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, CMKL University, Prince of Songkla University, and King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, have joined forces to develop research and innovations from deep tech using AI technology. The agreement was signed on December 3, 2020 and joined the NVIDIA AI Technology Centre network, which has a network of leading universities worldwide by NVIDIA, the manufacturer of GPU machines, the world's key mechanisms for high-speed AI processing units. The goal is to develop advanced technologies to support in-depth academic work, promote joint research between Thai and international researchers to develop research into practical innovations, and collaborate with the industrial sector to create people and technologies that are important to drive and enhance the country's capabilities. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), through the National Competitiveness Enhancement Fund Management Unit (NCEPMU), has supported and promoted the Thai AI University Network to collaborate in creating innovations under practical research by providing a budget in 2021. This collaboration activity was signed by university presidents and their representatives, with Prof. Dr. Supachai Patumnakul, Deputy Permanent Secretary of MHESI, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siri Chaiseri, Director of CNEPMU, as witnesses.

Human Book is a person who is skilled and expert in that subject. You can ask questions immediately. There is a summary to make it easy to remember. On Wednesday, October 28, 2020, 1:30-3:00 p.m., the Khon Kaen University Library provided the Human Book service on How to practice English by yourself to get results. Human Book by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yupin Techamanee, the service recipient is a 4th year nursing student who needs to prepare to present her work in English, Nursing Innovation subject. Asst. Prof. Dr. Orasa Kongtal, the student's group advisor, recommended that she borrow the Human Book, which has expertise and expertise to help advise the students what they need. The results of the service provided to the students were clearer and more confident. They felt relaxed and saw a much better way to prepare for their presentation. In addition, Human Book also recommended the benefits of practicing English by yourself, using English in your profession, and further developing yourself. The atmosphere of receiving the Human Book service was good and impressed the students very much. They will tell their friends and find an opportunity to request the service. Currently, the library has more than 25 human books available in 2 categories: Academic Skill and Life.
