KKU supports technology to help the new Wang Hai community in Nong Khai increase duck meat production potential, reduce costs, and deliver it directly to consumers.
On January 17, 2024, the Innovation and Enterprise Division, Khon Kaen University, by the Science Park, Khon Kaen University, followed up on the results of the project “Technology Transfer to Increase the Potential of Meat Duck Production” to the Community Enterprise of the Ban Mai Wang Hai Meat Duck Farmers Group, Nong Luang Subdistrict, Fao Rai District, Nong Khai Province, led by Assistant Professor Waewwaree Boonthiam and Assistant Professor Phiraphong Phaengphairi, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, via an online meeting under the plan to promote the use of innovation in the area to develop society and the community (Area-based Innovation for Community), the project to develop the quality of life and local economy in the region by supporting access to the use of research results, infrastructure, research and development, and technology services. The project has applied the technology of mixing complete feed by using black soldier fly larvae and other raw materials available in the community to increase the potential of duck meat production, allowing the Community Enterprise of the Ban Mai Wang Hai Meat Duck Farmers Group to reduce the cost of duck feed.
