Today (November 14, 2022) at 08.09, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, together with the executives of Khon Kaen University, led personnel and students to join the annual Modin Daeng Shrine Worship Ceremony 2022 at the Modin Daeng Shrine Sala Thammasathan. The Modin Daeng Shrine Worship Ceremony is a traditional event that Khon Kaen University people have jointly organized every year under the cooperation of the Student Development and Alumni Relations Division, the Student Development and Alumni Relations Division, and the Alumni Association. With a sense of gratitude to the educational institution To show the respect and faith of personnel, students, and the general public to the Modin Daeng Lord, who is considered a spiritual refuge for those who come to pay homage. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the ceremony. Prof. Piensak Phakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations, said that Khon Kaen University first held the ceremony to raise the Chao Pho Modin Daeng Shrine in June 1966. The Chao Pho Modin Daeng Shrine has been highly revered by university students and the general public since then. It has been a practice passed down from generation to generation. All new students must perform the ceremony to pay homage to Chao Pho Modin Daeng in order to become his children. The offering ceremony began at 8:09 a.m. with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul presiding.

วันนี้ (14 พฤศจิกายน 2563)  เวลา 08.09 น. รศ.นพ. ชาญชัย  พานทองวิริยะกุล อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น นำบุคลากร นักศึกษา  ร่วมพิธีบวงสรวงเจ้าพ่อมอดินแดง ประจำปี 2563  ณ ศาลาธรรมสถานศาลเจ้าพ่อมอดินแดง  โดยบุคลากร พุทธศาสนิกชน ทุกคนในงาน ต่างรักษาระยะห่าง สวมหน้ากากอนามัย ป้องกันโรคระบาดโควิด-19 อย่างพร้อมเพรียงกัน พิธีบวงสรวงสักการะเจ้าพ่อมอดินแดงถือเป็นงานประเพณีที่ชาวมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นได้ร่วมใจกันจัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปีภายใต้ความร่วมมือของ ฝ่ายพัฒนานักศึกษาและวิทยาเขตหนองคาย กองพัฒนานักศึกษาและศิษย์เก่าสัมพันธ์  สมาคมศิษย์เก่า  ด้วยสำนึกแห่งกตัญญูกตเวทิตาต่อสถานศึกษา  เพื่อแสดงถึงความเคารพบูชาและความศรัทธาของบุคลากร นักศึกษา  ประชาชนโดยทั่วไป ที่มีต่อเจ้าพ่อมอดินแดง ซึ่งนับว่าเป็นที่พึ่งทางจิตใจของผู้มากราบไหว้สักการะ รศ. เพียรศักดิ์  ภักดี  รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายพัฒนานักศึกษาและวิทยาเขตหนองคาย กล่าวว่า มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นได้ทำพิธียกศาลเจ้าพ่อมอดินแดงครั้งแรกในเดือนมิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2509  ศาลเจ้าพ่อมอดินแดงจึงเป็นที่เคารพสักการะของชาวมหาวิทยาลัยและประชาชนทั่วไปตั้งแต่นั้นเป็นต้นมา   และถือเป็นแนวทางปฏิบัติจากรุ่นสู่รุ่น นักศึกษาน้องใหม่ต้องทำพิธีไหว้เจ้าพ่อมอดินแดงเพื่อฝากตัวเป็นลูกเจ้าพ่อมอดินแดงทุกคน   และในปี 2547 คณะผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นได้มีมติเป็นเอกฉันท์ให้ดำเนินการก่อสร้างศาลาธรรมสถานจ้าพ่อมอดินแดง ขึ้นใหม่  ได้มอบหมายให้งานศิษย์เก่าสัมพันธ์  กองพัฒนานักศึกษาและศิษย์เก่าสัมพันธ์ เป็นแกนนำในการดำเนินงาน พิธีบวงสรวงเริ่มขึ้นเวลา 08.09 น.  โดยมี  รศ.นพ.ชาญชัย  พานทองวิริยะกุล อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น
