“A million! The 2025 Northeastern Agricultural Fair breaks records with over 1 million visitors, stimulating a billion-baht economy”

The “Isan Agricultural Fair 2025”, the largest agricultural innovation and technology fair in the Northeast, has closed its doors grandly. It was held from January 24 to February 2, 2025, on an area of over 200 rai at the Agricultural Technology Park, Khon Kaen University. This year’s event is themed “Creative Isan Agriculture, Promoting Soft Power, Raising Modern Agriculture For Sustainable Thai Development.” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Darunee Chotithayangkun, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, revealed that this year’s event created a new phenomenon with the number of visitors exceeding 1,139,084, more than double the previous year’s 663,000. “The number of visitors to the event this time comes from the precise data collection system of the Economics team, which uses AI technology together with a camera system to count the number of visitors from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day. We have received confirmation of the matching numbers from both the AI system and the evaluation team. This ensures that the number of visitors to the event of 1,139,084 is accurate and reliable. KKU raises the level of the 2025 Northeastern Agricultural Day to an international level, organizing training for Thai and international students in public relations.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, organized a workshop on public relations over the radio to prepare Thai and international students in bilingual communication to support hundreds of thousands of visitors for the 2025 Northeastern Agricultural Day. Assistant Professor Dr. Yadrung Mawongwai, Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Corporate Communications, Faculty of Agriculture, revealed that the faculty organized a workshop for 20 students working in public relations over the radio on January 14, 2025 at the Faculty of Agriculture. Ms. Benjamaporn Mamuk, a public relations specialist from the Corporate Communications Division, was honored to be a speaker for this workshop to develop comprehensive communication and public relations skills, including how to handle immediate situations to prepare for actual work in providing information, news, knowledge, and urgent announcements. An important highlight of this training is that international students from Indonesia also participated in the workshop to support public relations in English, as each year there are many international tourists visiting the event. When English is added, it will help international tourists understand what is being advertised and will also help add color to the event to be more diverse, reflecting the elevation of the Agricultural Day.
