Khon Kaen University organizes DE OUTBOX 2025 to strengthen student innovation businesses to cope with changes in the digital business world.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the closing ceremony of “DE OUTBOX: Digital Entrepreneur Showcase – The Concept to Concrete 2025” and presented awards to the winning student teams of the innovation business competition at Central Khon Kaen Shopping Mall on April 1, 2025. The President of Khon Kaen University said in the closing ceremony that “I am impressed by the creativity and potential of all student teams that participated in the competition. Every project demonstrates their readiness to be quality digital entrepreneurs who can apply knowledge from the classroom in a tangible way, which is in line with the university’s goal of producing graduates who are ready to cope with changes in the digital business world.” As for the results of the DE Outbox Pitching competition, there were 16 student business teams that entered the competition, divided into 3 categories: Cosmetics, Platform & Services, and Food & Goods. The winners of each category received cash prizes and opportunities to expand their businesses with business partners and sources of funding, with a total prize value of over 30,000 baht. Asst. KKU creates new generation chefs with “Master Thai Chef Program 1st Generation” to promote Thai food as a global soft power.

Recently, the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, in collaboration with the Faculty of Technology and the Office of Academic Services, Khon Kaen University, organized the project “One Village, One Professional Thai Chef (Master Thai Chef Program), Generation 1”, which was honored by Mr. Saowakit Preeprem (Chef Kitty), President of the Federation of Thai Chefs Associations, Chef Teerawit Disayachaipong (Chef Jaguar), under the supervision of Dr. Phongsaphan Satthathip, Deputy Dean for Industrial Relations and Sustainability, Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, who was in charge of the project. The activity started with an orientation for more than 38 participating students from the Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hospitality and Event Management, Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, and the Bachelor of Culinary Science and Technology, Faculty of Technology. In addition, there was an introduction to the use of the OFOS Thai Food system, which is a specialized online learning platform, and preparation for internships at leading establishments. Participating students in the program will learn to cook more than 50 Thai dishes through a blended learning method, both online and practical, totaling 240 hours, with Ms. Atiya Trappokpoon, a laboratory staff member. Ms. Phanthila Hiranno, an educational specialist, and Ms. Nantaphorn Khamsontha, a general affairs manager, are instructors and participants in the training system.

KKBS joins hands with the Thai Spa and Wellness Association to upgrade service education and promote Khon Kaen as a city of health tourism.

On March 8, 2025, the Asia Pacific Tourism Center under the supervision of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University organized the project “Workshop on Service Improvement to Prepare Khon Kaen as the Future Health Tourism City” and the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Thai Spa and Wellness Association to develop the potential of students and upgrade the Thai spa, wellness, and health tourism service industry to the international stage. The event was held at the Chattantha Room, Pullman Khon Kaen Raja Orchid Hotel (Asst. Prof. Dr. Phongsut Phuensaen, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, and Ms. Chawanat Sinthueaw, President of the Spa Association Association, while signing the Memorandum of Understanding). During the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding, Mr. Yuthaporn Pirunsan, Deputy Governor of Khon Kaen Province, was honored to give a speech in support of the project organization. Assistant Professor Dr. Metthawin Phonloyothi, Director of the Asia Pacific Tourism Center, gave a report on the project objectives. Now serving! “Digital & Creative Art Exhibition 2025”, a stage to showcase the most creative works of KKU students.

On March 15, 2025, Khon Kaen University organized the “Digital & Creative Art Exhibition 2025” under the Creative Arts course. Asst. Prof. Dr. Anucha Somabut, Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs and Acting Director of the General Education Institute, presided over the ceremony. Undergraduate students from the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, and Faculty of Public Health participated in the exhibition of creative media works at Room GL315, Phot Sarasin Building, Khon Kaen University. The exhibition showcased students’ creative works in various forms, such as posters presenting creative content, video content reflecting the identity of each subject, and teaching media developed using innovation and contemporary concepts. This course is under the supervision of the General Education Institute, with a team of teaching staff consisting of Asst. Prof. Dr. Chomnat Upachitkul as the course chairman, along with Asst. Prof. Thanomsak Chaikham, Asst. Prof. Dr. Benyapha Srisawangwong, and Asst. Prof. Aphichat Thamrong Khammani, who jointly developed the teaching format to be in line with modern education, emphasizing learning through hands-on practice. This exhibition was organized to open up a space for students to learn communication through design. By applying content from the context of the faculty and field of study to create media that can be disseminated to the public, both for learning and public relations, which reflects the goal of the Creative Arts subject that wants learners to be able to design media that is effective, can be used practically and is beneficial in many dimensions. At the end of the event, the results were announced and awards were given to outstanding works in 3 categories, including poster creation works.

The first step towards becoming an entrepreneur! “KKBS STARTUP CAMP 2025: GLOBAL MINDSET” creates new generation startups, turning ideas into real businesses.

On March 8-9, 2025, the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University organized the “KKBS Startup Camp 2025: Global Mindset” project, an activity to provide an opportunity for Khon Kaen University students to learn about startup businesses, from basic business knowledge, product design concepts, project feasibility assessment principles, and teamwork. This activity was supported by the operation to develop new enterprise entrepreneurs (Startups) under the academic cooperation between Khon Kaen University and the Technology and Innovation Entrepreneur Development Fund, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The Faculty was established as a TED Fellow. On March 5, 2025, the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pattaya Aviation Co., Ltd. at the Pattaya Connect Space area, Cosmo Office Park Building, 8th floor. The ceremony was honored by executives from both agencies, including Assistant Professor Dr. Phongsutthi Phuensaen, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, along with Dr. Phongsaphan Satthathip, Deputy Dean for Industrial Relations and Sustainability, Dr. Chichanya Lehraksa, Assistant Dean for International Relations, and Mr. Racharin Phiamchato, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pattaya Aviation Co., Ltd., along with Ms. Pairiya Na Rangsi, Director of Human Resources, Ms. Chudarat Chutamas, Manager of Human Resources Operation Support Department, and personnel from both agencies who joined as witnesses in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding. KKU ranks 5th in Business, Management and Accounting and 4th in Economics, Econometrics and Finance in the Scimago 2025 rankings.

SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) has published the results of the 2025 World Higher Education Rankings (Scimago Institutions Rankings) on the website https://www.scimagoir.com. In terms of national rankings, Business, Management and Accounting, Khon Kaen University is ranked 5th out of 21 institutions in Thailand, and Economics, Econometrics and Finance, Khon Kaen University is ranked 4th out of 15 institutions in Thailand. The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) is a ranking of institutions with international research output, ranking 9,054 organizations with research output worldwide. It does not only count universities, but also includes specialized institutions such as institutes of technology, colleges, hospitals, research institutes, etc. It is a ranking of universities and research institutes in terms of their ability to publish all types of academic works of the institution or university on the Scopus database. On February 19, 2025, the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Data First Company Limited. The ceremony was honored by executives from both agencies, including Dr. Narisara Palusuk, Deputy Dean for Administration and Corporate Image, Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, along with representatives from leading educational institutions, totaling more than 12 universities nationwide, and Ms. Kesakaew Ittikul, Managing Director of Dada First Company Limited, who joined the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding.
