The event was attended by faculty members, researchers, and personnel from various fields to celebrate academic achievements. Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, organized the 2025 gown presentation ceremony, passing on the symbol of the profession.

On March 30, 2025, the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University organized a gown-giving ceremony for 4th-year dental students in 2025 at the Nithipawee Srisuk Meeting Room, 5th floor, Chalermprakiat Building. More than 400 lecturers, students, and families witnessed this important moment for the new generation of dentists. The atmosphere was filled with warmth. Gown: A symbol of ethics and responsibility For the Bachelor of Dentistry program, students will have to spend 6 years studying. The first 3 years focus on theoretical studies in science and dentistry, while the last 3 years are an important period for practical training in the clinic. Therefore, the gown-giving ceremony is like a symbol indicating that students have stepped into becoming real medical service providers. The gown-giving ceremony is an important turning point for dental students because it symbolizes their step into full-fledged clinical training, reflecting increased responsibility and being the first step in working as oral health service providers to the public. Gown-giving ceremony: The beginning of becoming a professional dentist This honorable ceremony was organized by the Education Division and Student Club, Faculty of Dentistry to instill ethics and professional conduct in students. In addition to receiving the gown, students also received advice and guidance from the faculty, which will be an important guideline for their future clinical work. Assistant Professor Dr. Achirawut Suphanphet, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, gave a speech saying, “I ask that everyone conduct themselves as dentists with honor and dignity, adhere to professional ethics, and always develop themselves to become medical personnel who can take care of and help the public to the fullest.” The atmosphere was warm and proud. The important moment of the ceremony was when students received the gown from the faculty.

Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University organizes the One Pen project, a pen of communication power that combines teamwork to drive the organization.

  The Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University is ready to launch the “One Pen: The Pen of Communication Power and Teamwork” project for the fiscal year 2025. The project will be held from March to April 2025, with a duration of 15-30 minutes. The goal is to develop communication skills, create mutual understanding within the team, and foster an effective work culture. More than 100 personnel from the administrative departments, such as the Maintenance Unit, Building Unit, Finance Unit, Procurement Unit, and Human Resources Unit, will participate in the project at the Faculty of Dentistry Meeting Room, Khon Kaen University. Asst. Prof. Dr. Achirawut Suphanphet, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, revealed that the One Pen project was designed to allow personnel in the administrative departments of the Faculty of Dentistry to practice talking, exchanging ideas, and presenting work development guidelines in a format that is easy to understand, fast, and to the point in every organization. Communication is the heart of success, whether it is planning work, coordinating, or solving problems. If the team can communicate effectively, it will help reduce misunderstandings, strengthen cooperation, and make work more systematic.

Kuwanan Foundation provides scholarships to dental students at Khon Kaen University.

On March 21, 2025, Dr. Jirawut Kuwanan, Chairman of Kuwanan Foundation and Chairman of the Executive Board of Koyuha Motor Group, granted a scholarship to Mr. Chanathip Kanla, a first-year dentistry student at the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, to support his continued education until graduation and to promote learning opportunities for students. The Kuwanan Foundation was first established in 1978 by Dr. Winyu Kuwanan in Khon Kaen Province with the intention that education leads to sustainable development of society and the country. Currently, the foundation provides scholarships every year in 9 provinces: Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Loei, Bangkok, Lampang, and Chiang Mai to support Thai youths in educational opportunities and to develop their potential. Dental alumni receive “Distinguished Physician” award from President of Vietnam

On February 27, 2025, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day in Vietnam, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Thi Thao (a PhD alumnus of the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, between 2014-2018) received the "Distinguished Physician" award from the President of Vietnam. Currently, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Thi Thao is the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam. The "Distinguished Physician" award, which was honored by the President of Vietnam, recognizes professional excellence, dedication to work, or significant contributions to the medical and dental professions of the country. This award is for medical personnel who have worked in this field for no less than 15 years, have good ethics, are dedicated to their profession, love and care for patients sincerely, are trusted by the public, patients, and colleagues, and are capable of disease prevention and treatment.

Dentistry welcomes exchange students from Niigata University, Japan

March 3, 2025 – Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University welcomed Dr. Naoto Ohkora, a lecturer in Cariology, Operative Dentistry, and Endodontics, along with two dental students from the Faculty of Dentistry, Niigata University, Japan, on the occasion of their visit to participate in the student exchange program under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The welcome was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Achirawut Suphanphet, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, along with faculty members and staff of the Faculty. The Japanese exchange students will study and exchange experiences on teaching and clinical practice in various fields of dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, from March 3 to 7, 2025. In addition to the clinical study visit, the Japanese students also participated in cultural exchange activities with KKU dental students through various activities, such as the exchange of knowledge on dental education, oral health care systems, and recreational activities that reflected the lifestyles and cultures of both countries, which helped strengthen the good relationship between the universities and strengthen academic cooperation at the international level. This student exchange program is part of the mission of the Faculty of Dentistry, KKU, which aims to promote international educational cooperation and develop the quality of student learning to reach international standards.

Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University organizes a project to develop support executives, aiming for a high-performance organization.

The Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University organized the Support Executive Development Project for the fiscal year 2025 under the concept of “Connecting Work Forces, Building Strong Teams” from February 27 to March 1, 2025 at the VELA DHI Hotel, Nakhon Phanom Province, with more than 20 executives participating. The focus was on developing effective organizational management skills and upgrading the capabilities of support executives to become High Performance Leaders. This project reflects the vision of the Faculty of Dentistry in systematically developing the organization, especially the importance of developing the potential of support personnel, who are an important force in driving the faculty’s mission to achieve its goals. Asst. Prof. Dr. Achirawut Suphanphet, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, presided over the opening ceremony and said that the Faculty of Dentistry focuses on efficient and effective organizational management (Smart Administration) by continuously emphasizing the development of the potential of all personnel to strengthen the organization and support changes in the current era. Mrs. Kittiporn Chaiyokul, Director of the Faculty Administration Division, added that the support executive team plays an important role in driving the faculty’s work. Therefore, organizing this development project is an important process that will lead to sustainable development of the faculty in the future. In particular, fostering a strong teamwork culture, starting with the preparation of the Faculty of Dentistry's activity calendar, separated into 2 formats: the first format is the activity calendar of each unit to prevent duplication in organizing each activity, and the main activity calendar that needs to be published externally, which will be hung on the Faculty of Dentistry website. In addition, there are operations to close the gap in writing the TQA Application report, separated into main issues.

Dentist, KKU, hosts the grand event, inviting NIH to support the 10th International Dental Research Conference from 9 Countries

Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with leading educational institutions from the United States and Southeast Asia, organized the "10th International Workshop on Clinical Research Methods in Oral Health" during February 17-21, 2025 at the Northeast Science Park, Khon Kaen University. This conference was honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, Acting President of Khon Kaen University, as the opening ceremony chairman. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waranuch Pitiphat, DDS., Director of the Oral Health Clinical and Public Health Research Training Program for Southeast Asia, gave a report. Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with leading experts in beauty and dentistry in Thailand, organized a special lecture “THE EXPERT SHARING: FACIAL MAKEOVER MAXILLOFACIAL & ORTHODONTIST DR.TINn EP.14 FOUNDATION” to share knowledge in dentistry and facial plastic surgery as well as raise funds to help patients who lack the financial resources for dental treatment via Zoom from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on January 30, 2025. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amorntep Mangmee, a lecturer in the Department of Surgery and Maxillofacial, Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, and an expert in oral and maxillofacial surgery, said about the origin of this knowledge exchange lecture that this special lecture is called “THE EXPERT SHARING: FACIAL MAKEOVER MAXILLOFACIAL & ORTHODONTIST DR.TINn EP.14 FOUNDATION” to exchange modern science in dentistry. We were honored to have a team of leading experts in the country come to share their knowledge and experience about modern facial adjustment and orthodontics methods. The content covered oral health care and the development of new techniques in dental treatment and facial surgery.
