KKU holds grand Buddha Abhiseka ceremony for “Richest” coins, with proceeds supporting medical upgrading projects and creating educational opportunities

On March 24, 2025, Khon Kaen University organized the grand Buddha Abhiseka ceremony for the “Ruay Yod Sud” coin at the Khon Kaen University Kanchanaphisek Multipurpose Convention Center, chaired by Phra Ratcha Wacharathammasophon (Luang Pu Sila Sirichanto P.) on the monk’s side and Asst. Prof. Dr. Thara Thammaroj, Vice President for Administration of Khon Kaen University, on the laity’s side. Many devotees joined the ceremony, and all proceeds from the coin’s creation will be donated to three important projects of Khon Kaen University. The event started in the morning, with the public allowed to receive seating cards and reserve coins from 8:00 a.m. Then, at 12:00 p.m., participants with tickets began to enter the conference room, and the grand Buddha Abhiseka ceremony began at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony began with the monks from Wat Thep Poonaram in Khon Kaen Province ascending to the monk’s seat. Asst. Prof. Dr. Thara Thammaroj, Vice President for Administration The chairman of the ceremony lit incense sticks and candles to worship the Triple Gem. Phra Ratchaprasitkhun, advisor to the 9th Sangha Region and abbot of Wat Theppuranaram in Khon Kaen Province, gave the precepts. Then, the monks chanted the Buddhist mantras.
